So is Omicron BA.1 BA.2 causing deaths and hospitalizations on unvaccinated and vaccinated?

Or is it the massive number of infections causing mathematically an increase in hospitalizations despite less severe ?

After everybody’s been spreading the word that it is mild “a common cold” and the numbers of death in UK France hasn’t been really going up crazy compared to the number of cases, I m confused if it’s a concern ?

My friend caught the original wuhan strain in 2020 before vaccination + 2 Pfizer jabs, then caught Omicron 2 weeks ago. Only 5 days between the moment she told me she had a rhinite on Sunday, her test returned positive on Monday. 5 days later on Friday she was testing negative thrice and went back to work on Saturday. Even my bronchitis last longer 3 weeks. And we both are a maniac about the virus : She hates covid and is so scared of it but at the same time she isolated less than a week and has been fine. She said Omicron was nothing compared to first time.
