Latest polling shows Donald Trump and Kamala Harris ‘desperately close’ ahead of debate

The Australian’s Foreign Editor Greg Sheridan discusses the latest US political polling between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris just days before the presidential debate.

The New York Times/Siena College poll revealed nationally that 47 per cent of likely voters backed Ms Harris and 48 per cent of likely voters backed Trump.

"I think this is a desperately close race and everything so far has been unpredicted and I guess we'll have plenty of unpredictable stuff still to come," Mr Sheridan told Sky News host Andrew Bolt.

on January 23rd 2023, a foreign student Jaahnavi Kandula, 23, was killed, when struck by a Seattle police vehicle speeding at 119 kmh on the way to a reported drug-overdose call, while she crossed a street. The body was flug 100 yards. Kevin Dave the Seattle PD officer called in to report saying: " uh I think she went up on the hood hit the windshield and the brakes applied she flew off the car but she's dead ". After this comment this officer laughed hard for four seconds, the Seattle PD's disciplinary report said. Further the offending officer said 'yeah, just write a check. Just yeah(followed by laughter) $11, 000, she was 26, anyway she had limited value'. What does Kamala Harris think about this, had there been a court battle instead of the Seattle City attorney Leesa Manion issuing a $5, 000 traffic infraction against that officer ? Stating the evidence is lacking to prove criminal intent beyond a reasonable doubt.
