My store manager retired so her position had opened up. I brought it to the attention of the owner that I was interested in the job. He was surprised and hired someone else instead. I watched your videos. I watched them hire and fire 5 different managers. (At one point, the district manager came and even she left after a couple of weeks.) I kept fighting for this position, overcoming many obstacles and getting rid of each one like a game of chess. Everything you said was true. These videos are EXACTLY what you want to do if you get the position. This lesson is better than any training you will receive. These are things that experienced store managers do. This video should cost money, you know the real quality of work and what it takes being a store manager. Thank you for this. I found these videos exactly when I needed them, and I would listen to them in the car or at home and take notes. I overcame challenges that I never expected could ever happen. Many things didn’t make sense, but I watched your videos and trust God everyday. I was 22 years old when they finally offered me the position and now I am 23 and a store manager of my store. Thank you greatly! 😊🙏🏼❤️

I've worked as a manager for a while, and became a regional operations manager a couple years ago. Now, I manage the managers of over a dozen service locations. I came here to continue my learning and see what's on offer here. Something struck me right away. The instructor left out an extremely important lesson I learned on the job. Do NOTHING for the first few months. Just LEARN. Look at the business, take in everything, put nothing out, make NO CHANGES. That's for people walking into new employment at new locations, of course. I can tell you, if you walk in the door and start firing people, scheduling a bunch of meetings, and changing the processes and culture, they will hate you and you have no idea how the policies/actions you're taking with actually impact the business. Know the place and the people, and let them know you, BEFORE you dive in. Getting associate/employee "buy in" is supremely important. If they believe in you and your objectives, they will meet and exceed your expectations every time.

I’ve been managing for 3 years and I’m regional manager and I still need tips. Omg this is so hard my soul is dying and i cry less now even tho I want to cry more...good luck everybody. Remember it’s not about authority is about being a teacher and not crying in front of your students.

I was a 1st asst for 9 months and had the best closing numbers. We typically ran a 2, 500$-5, 000$ day. On game day weekends it could run up to 8, 000$. Now I just got promoted to Store Manager at a different store and I'm in over my head. The old Manager let the place go and I have a lot of work ahead of me. Thank you for these videos.

You earned my respect the moment this course mentioned setting expectations with your family. So many resources fail to even consider close relationships outside of the workplace.

I applied for a job as a manager and the owner offered me the job of the GM and I accepted and now I'm freaking out because I start soon.

I just stepped up into management in a store that’s in trouble. Corporate has just sent in a top store manager to clean up the store. One of this stores issues is no training!
Thank you for your video. I’ve had no training. I’ve been hired purely based on work ethic. I want the store to succeed badly, but I also feel incompetent. I do not feel it’s my own fault I’m incompetent. I’m going to go listen to your video again, and take notes.

Jesss, i'd been a manager for 12 years, I wish I found these videos befor. I learned killing me and doing everthing by myself, until I start to delegate task to people and make them commit to the job, cero complisency and have some consecuency on bad behaviors. Actually i try to train them the most that I can and do coaching All the time, but also you need to let them go quick without feeling bad if they are hurting your store, the Team and the business and more importante your fricking they off when they called out or sick. .. If they dont do their job you are the one that has to do it, so hell no they need to Go

I was basically initiated by fire with what just happened. I grew up with one of the absolute best retail managers in the business. My father (Darrell) was one of the most respected retail managers in the entire retail world. I watched how he worked growing up. My whole life. Over 30 years. Now I’m restarting my retail career and within 5 months offered freight manager. I started a week ago. Had 22 hours of training. I’ve been terrified. How do I get this group of people behind me when they don’t know me? Busted my tail this week getting the store somewhat stocked. But still trying to figure out how to connect with my people. Until we get a store manager I’m store manager. I know I am my fathers daughter but I’m terrified I’ll mess his reputation up and feel the intense pressure to follow his footsteps

How long do you think it would take to be an assistance major at a food store. I just started work and felt that I would start to have a goal in the area of work I'm at. I work with the online shopper. Professional shopper. would go and buy the items that people buy from the online website.
