What's The Matter With Oort Cloud? Does It Exist or Not?

preview_player
Показать описание
Our solar system is, or could be, shielded by an enormous spherical shell called the Oort Cloud, home to countless objects like ice, rock, and maybe other dwarf planets. A lot of people talk about the Oort Cloud as if it's factual. It probably is, and a lot of theoretical astronomers and astrophysicists are certain it exists, but it's not that we have any direct evidence.

Correction: It shouldn’t be said ‘do other solar systems have oort clouds’. Solar system only refers to our planetary system. Other systems should be referred to as star systems or planetary systems.

James webb needs to check this oort cloud character out

Astrophysicists measured the elements located in the tail of comets. They discovered elements that require extreme temperatures to make. Thus comets cannot form in an Oort cloud because outside the solar system is extremely cold, not extremely hot. Another theory has to be imagined now in order to explain where they came from.

I appreciate your honesty as the Oort Cloud remains a theory explaining long-term comets for those who object to a Young Universe.

If "oort clouds" are as implied a by product of solar system formation, then it is quite possible that Alpha centauri aldo has an "oort cloud". This means the two oort clouds could be interfering with each other.

How would a comet formed in our system be flung so far out of our solar system.

This left me with more questions than answers the video 👍🤗

Why wouldnt we be able to tell that any image of anything beyond the oort cloud be less clear?. You would see a haze, as this cloud not only surrounds every thing, it's really thick.

So maybe the oort cloud doesn't have as many objects as scientist think? Which maybe another reason it's hard to spot with certainty.

I never understood why they speak of an Oort cloud, yet never show any proof of it, and like the narrator said, we havent seen any other Star Systms with an Oort cloud.🤔🤨🤔

the changes in space density outside the heliopause are still considered to be part of solar system, and the Oort cloud with it? or could the sun's gravitational effects reach outside solar system to the Oort cloud and nearby stars?

Voyager has reached the edge of Heliosphere and heliopause, making the Oort cloud well beyond both?

I look at it this way. Space is a giant pinball like machine. Planets or large objects are the bumbers to the comets.
