The circle of fifths is more useful than most people know. It's more than just a dusty, old diagram of key signatures. It's actually a powerful tool for songwriting that allows you to create chord progressions in any key and mode.

One of the clearest explanations of modes in the Circle of Fifths. As a beginner, I really appreciate this.
There are several channels that try to explain things but they expect a higher understanding of music theory or technical ability. That is a real art. Merci beaucoup.

This is a text-book video for any TEACHER that wants to learn how to teach.

People who can explain the theory are a dime a dozen, but someone who can cook it down to something that also visually interesting and simple to follow - is rare to come across.

Your graphics are absolutely killer! They demonstrate everything you say and leave nothing to the imagination. Just brilliant.

If this was taught to me this back when I start learning music I might have become the professional musician my guitar teacher imagined me being.

this was by far the best explanation of the circle of 5ths i've heard, prior to this I had a vague sense of relatedness between chords but didn't really understand the underlying mechanics of that.

instant sub! I actually had my jaw drop in real life when I saw the animations. That made more sense than it has since day one. THIS is how you explain theory.

Les explications sont si claires, le cercle est une information totalement indispensable même pour un vieux gratteur de guitare. Merci

This is the most lucid and brilliant explanation of the formerly enigmatic COF. Most videos spit jargon. This is actual understanding. With clear graphics. You ROCK! Yakmala!

Great lesson...love the "palette" analogy! Love the Pachelbel Progression..I m practicing it in all keys on the piano..If Pachelbel only knew how famous he became! He died in 1706...the year Benj. Franklin was born!

I've loved the Circle of Fifths for decades.. and your videos have been more than helpful in helping me to (re-)discover the uses for it.

I'm glad you explained why you used the A Major chord in the Aeolian mode version of the 'Pachelbel' progression. as I *did* expect the A Minor there.

...but looking at the modes through 'the circle' is something I hadn't thought about for building progressions. Most helpful. Fanx! for posting :)
