Normie Rowe – Shakin’ All Over …1965
Backed by his band The Playboys, Normie Rowe released a string of pop hits that kept him at the top of the charts and made him one of Australia’s most popular solo performers of the mid-1960s. Rowe's double-sided hit, "Que Sera Sera/ Shakin’ All Over" was one of the most successful Australian singles, and between 1965-1967 Normie Rowe was Australia's most popular male star. Unfortunately, his career was cut short when he was drafted for compulsory military service (called National Service in Australia) in late 1967. His subsequent tour of duty in Vietnam effectively ended his pop career and he was never able to recapture the success in music he enjoyed at his peak, and instead he carved out a career in theatre. If you have any info about Normie Rowe and would like to share, please feel free to do so. …Info source; wikipedia

This is the version by Normie Rowe I loved as as teenager growing up here in Rotorua NZ. Loved Normie Rowe's other songs at this time as well, he was very popular over here. Thanks so much, nice clear sound.

Never heard this! Did some digging. Goes to no 1 in Australia. Song written in 1960. Very cool

Crocodile Duncan D, they covered this, staying true to the original. I never heard a bad cover version of this song. The Guess Who's version is the first version that I ever heard, followed by Johnny Kidd and the Pirates original.

Another great version of this classic Johnny Kidd song. It sounds like Rowe must have heard the Chad Allan and the Expressions/Guess Who version and did his own take on it, based on that. This is so close to the Expressions' cover that I find it improbable to believe he came up with this independently as the former had. Regardless, Dale, a fantastic single and a cool find!

Normie Rowe served in the Army in the middle of his career and did a tour in Vietnam if my memory serves me correct. He's a true Patriot.
