Dave, My husband and I are 68 and 70 yo. We have been riding ATV'S for years. We ride from WV, TN, KY, CO, UT, AZ & ID. Due to your excellent advice, we ride prepared! We normally ride by ourselves, so it very important that we are prepared for anything. We have a sat phone, and personal locator beacon. We also carry a tent, sleeping bags, cookware, axes, etc! We are prepared for anything! Thank you for all your suggestions!

In my crazy world, I look forward to the three days a week you come on. Believe it or not, you are my voice of sanity and calm even though the cases you present are anything but. I am part of your unseen Village and I am a member of the Kindness Revolution. A true friend is a precious thing. Of all the friends I've had in life only one remains. I gave her my kidney in 2011when she was dying of kidney disease and she is still here today enjoying her grandchildren and loving life. Thank you for being there for all of us out here.

I’m fascinated by these cases. The fact people can pretty much vanish and can never be found is eerie, but I do find it interesting to listen to. I like hiking myself here in AZ, and I now take steps to being safer out there.

Life often shows itself in mysterious ways. I say this in a duofold way. The first is about all these people who disappear and are never found. The second is about our human relationships. Having been a full-time caregiver for seven years, I've learned who my true friends are. The number is quite small, sadly. Also how many people truly love the person I am caring for. The number is quite small. It used to hurt me deeply, but not anymore. Maybe I've become numb and surprised at the reality of so many relationships being so empty. More importantly, I've found myself in a much healthier way. That's what matters most to me today.
To the villagers, all of you, you matter. Please never forget that. Some life lessons are learned the hard way. The important thing is to not repeatedly allow ourselves to be hurt over and over again.

I had a coworker do that to me. She was younger and was assigned laundry duty as part of her caregiver schedule. She claimed to be passionate about caregiving, and felt held back. I offered to cover laundry so she could pursue her dream. She played me stupid. She wanted to hang out with friends. Not even doing her rounds for vulnerable patients. I felt betrayed. She tried to get me fired. Never do a kindness expecting it will be returned. Do it only because you are kind. No expectations. You are kind, Dave. Not everyone is. It never diminishes your intention. Bless you.
