The 2021 US Open main draw runs from August 30 - September 12 in New York City at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. The tournament takes place for the 141st time and is the fourth and final Grand Slam of the year. Dominic Thiem is the men’s singles defending champion but has withdrawn following an injury. Naomi Osaka is the women’s singles defending champion and will be aiming to claim the title for the third time in four years. Meanwhile, No. 1 seed Novak Djokovic looks to complete the calendar Grand Slam after winning the Australian Open, French Open and Wimbledon already this year. Should the Serbian lift the title here for the fifth time, he will also overtake Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal to become the first-ever man to win 21 Grand Slam singles titles. With full capacity crowds back again, it’s time for the greatest return!

One of the hardest parts of her life now is answering what are basically the same questions time after time. She does it charmingly.

regardless of who wins, WTA tennis hasn't been this exciting in a minute. I wish both of them the very best!

What an example to the youth she is! In a time where so much fakeness on social media, she is a beacon of hope. Don’t change please!

The way she conducts herself, her respect for everyone, conveying confidence without arrogance - she is a role model for experienced players let alone those new to the game. Class act

She honestly is a breath of fresh air for the woman’s tennis world. No arrogance, so friendly and transparent in her interviews, talking with such fluency, no shyness, full of confidence but not a hint of over confidence, and that also applies to her tennis which is also very adaptable to her opponents. Definitely a rising star who will win many GSs. And to top it off, she is so pretty. She is a joy to watch on and off court. Very well done do her.

I’m impressed by how articulate and mature she sounds at that young age. She is a delight for journalists cause she talks and elaborates clearly on her answers, she is not too shy and too private, perfect balance.
When she becomes a superstar sensation, hope she stays the same and not an instagram or marketing product...

Love her personality, her play style. She has everything she needs to be a multiple GS winner. I just hope the WTA and her team protect her because it can get wild.

What an incredible woman. What an upbringing, to produce someone so talented, intelligent and charming. Human perfection.

I have total respect for Emma as a tennis professional for her on and off-court performances but even more so for putting up with the banal questioning from these journalists. I admire her poise under these circumstances.

She has more IQ than all the reporters in that room combined.

What's there not to like - 62 dislikes. And all we're seeing here is the pure honesty of a very young player who's had success in the tournament moving through the qualies without dropping a set, and just now won the championship. Just goes to show how people just really hate for no reason at all. Congratulations Emma, you go girl!

Enjoying Raducanu's and Fernandez's runs immensely, and the final is definitely on my calendar. Odds are favoring Raducanu, and I agree. Have a sneaky suspicion that Raducanu's apparent split-focus between tennis and education did two things: 1) concealed the full degree of her tennis skills and 2) creates a balance which will give her an edge. All that said, I am just happy to see two amazing and motivated women go to battle. Should be a joy to watch.

Both Emma and Leylah show great maturity for their ages, and handle the press so well.
