I appreciate your time, but it would be more helpful to just demonstrate, like a bunch of wires or even one wire, how to know if any particular wire has broken. I have wires in my van for my fan exhaust and regular, and now both items do not work I would like to replace the wires, but my dilemma is which one? I hope you will make such a video in the future. Thanks for your time.

I have a 5A battery parasitic drain on my 02 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.7L and i did a Amp test from negative battery post to negative battery cable connector with the connector taken off of the battery post.
It showed 5A draw and i pulled fuses one by one until i found the main draw which was 15Amp fuse #8 under steering wheel.

That one says on a online diagram that it protects the:

Overhead Console, Rear Wiper, ip lights, rear flipper glass solenoid.

I checked the overhead console and rear wiper wires on ends and i didn't see any obvious wire problems from what i could see.

I checked the instrument panel lights by pulling out the box the speedometer is in and it is missing 7 light bulbs probably an engine light. But not sure if thats the cause of the drain on battery.

I'm wondering how the instrument panel lights or the overhead console could cause any draws on battery since they are only on when key-on ignition. My drain is when key-off abd engine off.
It's a constant drain, not intermittent. It draws 4.9A instantly when i place leads on negative terminal and cable with it disconnected and dlowly drops down to 0.26A and as soon as i let off battery post then place it back on it goes right back to 4.9A and trickles down again.

I need to know how to test and where to test.

I have a multimeter, a cheap test light that tells voltage(timy bulb) and i do have a cheap power circuit probe, not the nsme brand but I'm scared to send power to anything in fear ill bresk something on circuit.

My small test light that tells voltage also lights up green for ground and red for +. So it tells me polarity.

Should i do a voltage drop test, and if so where. Should i keep battery connected or should i keep it disconnected when i test?

Whats your advise for how i should go about testing this Amp Draw?

Not sure if i mentioned it but when i pull fuse 8 with multimeter in series on negative battery cable and post on 10A setting my draw goes from 4.9A all the way to 0.59A

I know i need to get it down to 0.05A(50mA) and 0.59A is (590mA) and still way to much draw. I just want yo fox it step by step.

Where does one get a wiring diagram for their car? I have a 2009 chevy cobalt and a code saying the Cam Actuator Circuit is open. I just dont want to break about all the wiring jacketing stuff just to trace the wire trying to find where it goes.

How can you be sure that it’s completed the circuit by ansingle wire strand in the useage on a vehicle issues still persist? Going thru this currently

I got a new alt and battery started right up 3 hours later dead not even a light I’m so stressed school starting back drs appointments how much would a mechanic cost to help me I wish I just knew people that knows these things cause after buying the battery and alt lol broke
