Huh, cutting taxes whilst increasing spending results in a massive deficit increase. Who could have known? It's not like the economy is based on things like mathematical principles which can be broadly predicted by experts.

Obviously it's based on magic and belief.

How does the GOP expect this to work long term? When people receive social benefits, they spend the money and that creates a demand for goods and services. Businesses do well and employment goes up. If you cut those benefits and make people poorer, they can’t spend money to support businesses, so there are layoffs and bankruptcies. On the other hand, the wealthy already have more than they can spend, so they hoard the extra money or move it to offshore tax shelters. It doesn’t circulate to benefit the local economy nearly as much as money in the hands of the poor or middle class. In the end, if the GOP puts more people into poverty, the entire economy will collapse.

You don't need an economics background to know what was going to happen. Just a marginal interest in politics and history.
Now is the worst time to cut social safety nets, there is no left wing in the US, but the GOP are far right wing.
Get money out of politics, have a true democracy, use the money to educate the populace, have universal healthcare, look after those who can't look after themselves and get the top and corporations off welfare.
