Even though it's played for laughs because the librarian was incredibly old, she was still an adult in an authority position who took advantage of a teenage Ross. They'd never be able to get away with that joke in a post Me Too era. Always Sunny had a similar plot with Dennis, where his friends try to convince him that he was taken advantage of by his own school librarian.

In this episode there’s a very infamous botch by the writers when they had Rachel say «Ross we went out for 2 years and you never told me that you were in a I hate Rachel club».

There’s just one problem: Ross and Rachel (unfortunately) only went out for 1 year… I wonder if it’s an indirect way for the writers to admit that they screwed up by having Ross and Rachel break up so quickly even though David and Jen were amazing together…
