You didn’t show the cool thing about the seat height adjustment - that the handle telescopes for ease of movement.

I'm going to suggest that the wine glass rests in the glove compartment lid are NOT intended to be utilized while driving, and this is precisely why they are only 5mm high - it's a safety feature. (Particularly since drinking wine while driving is, at the very least, frowned upon.) They're intended for use in an in-vehicle picnic while stopped to admire a view of, e.g., the Alps. (In a pinch, the clutch return spring can be repurposed as a corkscrew as well.) Saabs have always been gourmet-conscious. As I'm sure you know, the 9-3 model has an air conditioning vent in the glove box, which the owners' manual specifically states is to "allow the storage of chocolate during hot weather". And, also on the 9-3, you can easily boil an egg on the ECU, which is why it was thoughtfully placed on the intake manifold. (Many erroneously view this as a design flaw, but I guess they prefer their eggs cold.)

The fold down seat is not only useful for camping but hauling appliances, too. In 1994, I was living in New Hampshire & got a job in Connecticut. I found out I needed a gas clothes dryer for my condo. I folded my seat in my 1991 900 Turbo, took a GE dryer out of the box, put it face down so the panel fit over the seatback and Viola! closed the hatch. Instant transport!

1. Reverse light in front light had only US market Saab 900
2. That “handle” in front of the passenger is for moving forward the seat, you will grab and pull yourself
3. That lever on height is movable, you can pull and you have more leverage and its going easier to move the seat

You brought back great memories with that front backup light. It was so useful in parking garages when backing up and turning at the same time. Those gatage cement pillars like to eat quarter panels. 😅
Way to showcase Saab engineering, safety details, and ingenuity, Jacob!!
It IS why we love them so! ❤😊

“The dawn of power seats…” LOL. Youth! My 1947 Lincoln Continental had 4-way power seats. And who opens bottles now? ❤

Nice video as always :-)

Raising the driver seat: you can pull out the "knob" - has a built in telescopic arm - raising the seat becomes more effortless.

( Atleast the 9000 had this... 😇)

Funnest and best car I ever owned....❤ I had an 8 valve 900 Turbo with the metric magnesium rims....and have owned several of the 16 valve models as well....that 8 valve Turbo engine 40 plus mpg and really sweet...the CSI injection I'm just partial to..

Thank you! I am a new subscriber from Sweden. Interesting to see your front seatbelts with a fixed shoulder belt(?) and an inertia lap belt. It reminds me of the solution some American landyachts had in the early 1970s. The knee protection padding beneath the dashboard on your 900 looks like equipment exclusively for North American market cars, but I might be wrong.

That seat adjustment was already an upgraded version. Before there was a system with the handle up front that adjusted up either the front, back or both. If memory serves me well it had two positions, about 4 cm between high and low. Started in the 99 when the seats with integrated head rests were introduced. When I installed 99-Turbo seats in the 96 I had to saw off the height adjustment brackets that were positioned at the underside at the back.

You didn’t mention the pneumatic air vents! There’s lots of things that were unique to Saab (the smell of a 900 is like nothing else), but the little “psssh” as you change the air-flow direction is special.

Oh and the “always fresh air” vent in the middle of the dash that means you can have cool air on your face and warm air on your feet

Something else unique to SAAB -- you must use the key to lock the driver door. You can't push down the lock and close the door, it will pop up.

Great job Jacob. The reverse light in the turn signal ALSO lights up when you turn the blinker on, as it serves as a cornering light.

The glovebox cupholders are intended for when the car is stationary; camping, tailgating, etc.

I like the latch that holds the trunk shelf in a vertical position :)

I remember my dad’s 900 very well and noting seemed like a secret feature to me. Except that you can open bottles. But is that really meant for it?
I also remember the smell of the leather seats especially when the car was new. It was a great vehicle that died in a car crash.

I had 7 of those. EMS, Turbo convertibles, SPG’s and base 900’s. Fantastic automobiles
