I used to know someone who did something like this. No matter what was going on, she had to factor her wedding into every conversation. Two of our mutual friends decided to end their relationship but stay friends. They had planned to go to dinner and talk about it. I told them that regardless of what they decide, to come over afterwards and we'd hang out to get their minds off things if they went south. They come over and tell me they decided to break up but stay friends. This actually made more sense for them as they had been having issues for a long time, but she was going to start getting help so they could start having a better friendship and maybe revisit things in the future. Okay, cool. A friend of ours showed up, without being invited, and decided to hang out. She was the last person we needed around because she always brought up her wedding regardless of what was going on in any situation. Well, she did it again. We're all chilling out downstairs having a good time. Of course she had to bring up something about her wedding party. I had enough and called her out on it. "Two of your friends just decided to end their relationship and not get engaged, and you're talking about your wedding party?" She looked at me like she couldn't possibly understand why that was inappropriate. This was one of many reasons why none of us really stayed good friends with her after that. We were friends in name, and nothing else.

I actually really like the idea of caterer being provided by the venue, and caterers bidding for the job each season. I don't hear of that much but it makes tons of sense.
