I've recently had a problem with my CR-10's heat bed. It ended up bing the MOSFET, the thing that controls how and if your heat bead works properly. I bought one on amazon and had a heck of a time installing it, but thanks to members of the CR-10 Facebook Message Group I was able to get it all working again.

You can find the Mosfet I bought here:

So what was the problem you had? Was it keep on heating past set point or did it not heat at all?

Hey I have watched this video due to trying to work out the wiring of this Mosefit in your vid I can see the 2 power wires are going to the PSU but the 1 wire in the middle of them I can't quit make out where it is running to. I'm guessing it goes to the main board some where.
Also the controller wires with the plug where do they run to on the main board?
I stupidly pulled mine apart with out taking some note or photos of the wiring before pulling it apart

Good deal, you learned some basic electronics... It's sort of like a relay.
Has power coming in from the PSU, which can then go out to the bed. But doesn't allow power to go to the bed unless it get's switched on (through the jst connector from the mainboard). That jst low voltage connection is simply a trigger on/off switch for the mosfet.
I think many things on 3d printers can introduce people to basic electronics. While there are some kits out there that could be deemed dangerous for novices, the maintenance and upkeep on a less risky machine such as the cr-10 and others can gradually introduce people to basic electricity... even if it is as simple as crimping tools or soldering irons for various add-ons/upgrades/repairs.
And I'm of the opinion that if people can figure out filament, temp, speed, etc? Then surely they are capable of learning basic electricity as well.
Good on you!

Dude it shouldn't rake 3 minutes to get to mediocre info. Alao tou didn't have to cut the wires you could have unscrewed the old wires and screwed rhe new ones in.
