Formula E makes for some of the most exciting and close racing as drivers manage their battery to cross the final line at exactly 0%, but honestly fanboost seems out of place in any kind of sport and I wish it would be done away with entirely.

I imagine if Vandoorne is ever in a race where he didn’t get fanboost he’ll still hit the fanboost button out of instinct for having it every race for 3 years in a row

They need to add a thing that squirts oil behind you, and give you turtle shells to throw at the other drivers to spin them out. If you're going arcade-racer, go full-on.

It was a nice quick refresher, good for newcomers probably, but I was hoping for a more detailed video showing the new quali rules.
I think if I'll rewatch this video a few times, at least that section, I can piece everything together with what I remember from the original announcement.

I’m pretty convinced that there are too many rounds in qualifying. There should only be 4 drivers going through from the groups, rather than 8.

Fan Boost is weird. Motor Racing shouldn't be a popularity contest.

Without fanboost and attack mode being mandatory the format would actually be ok.
Another problem is the weak aero. So damage doesn’t really matter, resulting in poor driving standards.

The one thing Im not a fan of is Fan Boost... That has nothing to do with racing. It's pretty much who has a bigger social media presence. Its not equal. 5kW is nothing is not much. but if that is what decides a podium or not, im not for it.
