Mules also take responsibility for their pack. They will walk around an obstacle but horses will just knock what they are carrying into a tree or obstacle.

Agreed. A guide told me out in New Mexico once that they are more sure footed because they can see their back feet without turning their head much at all. Idk but it was a great ride we had.

I had a mule named Bula! She was jet black.. I rode in rodeos, barrels, poles, flags & rider pickup with her! She was awesome & beautiful! We earned all around Cowgirl!

As an equestrian (person who ride/takes care of horses) I agree like my horse is afraid of everything and needs way more attention, but I would never trade him for a mule I mean he's family but after this I might get one

A Mule will side step around a tree to not drag the load off his back. A horse will keep dragging the load on trees .

In growing up @ the farm was a Draft Horse/MULE cross named Sam and we rode him bareback with just a lead everynight to go down to the lower 40 to open the gate to let the cows back for milking time...!
So gentle yet awesome at 1, 600lbs full of real power...!
