I fell off a 24 foot extension ladder, no injuries, not even a scratch.
But I was only on the first step.

Pro tip: scissor lifts are cheaper than hospital trips

As a roofer I say to you, if you aren't confident on a ladder don't do it . Your instincts are your best mentor . They will save your life every time .

Fun fact they make light bulb changing poles that can reach that for $20 bucks. If your boss tries to send you up that ladder instead of spending $20 on the pole that means they value your life less than $20.

On may 19th 2023 I fell off of the third floor roof after the ladder slipped on the gravel and nobody/nothing was holding it. Broke my right arm in three places, three ribs, shoulder scapula and sacrum in my pelvis. 10 months later, I am still not 100% and still recovering, even though just last week I went back to work, but still taking it easy and slowly. If the ladder is too short, don't be a hero, if the ground ain't right, don't set the ladder. Your health is more important than that paycheck.

We've all been there. Last step of the ladder and all of a sudden you start caring about the warning stickers telling you not to be there 😂

I feel your brother. Anybody that has ever done construction knows what you're going through.

If you have ever taken a serious fall from any height, you know… In 2007, I took a massively bad fall that nearly ☠️’d me… I have had dozens of surgeries. All these years later, I am still messed up, bad. And at some point, my ability to walk may be totally gone. As every year, my back and neck and the nerves in my spinal cord are worse and worse. This brings back bad memories…

This is the kind of shit I used to do that still wakes me up at night. Had my last day one day working by myself and said no more life ain't worth that kind of money

Ooof got tingling in my nuts remembering situations just like that 😂😂😂 it never pays to be dangerous! You fall, you’re hurt, you can’t work, you lose money!

As an electrician, i can say, this is one of the scariest feelings ever. 😂 But once you get ahold of what you're working on and get stabilized, it's not so bad. Getting back down is terrifying. 😂

Note: 23 dollars an hour isn't worth your life or eating from a tube. Why risk it make your contractor supply safety equipment or rent a man lift it isnt your money so don't feel bad asking for it 👌🏼

I fell four stories onto concrete. Woke up a month & 1/2 later out of a coma. 7 surgerys, and here I am still climbing on ladder's doing my work 🤷‍♂️

I love reading all these responses about how scary and dangerous. Growing up in the family business we always stood on the TOP of a 12 foot ladder. He has two more steps to go🤣🤣
