What's The Best Cheap Multipen of 2018?

Yes, almost all multipens are terrible. Seriously, they are too big, too expensive, too ugly, and just not fun to use. But, at a fundamental level, we can agree the one pen body with multiple colors (and maybe even a pencil in it) is a good idea.

So despite growing out of a good idea, almost all multipens are awful. Which ones aren't? What's the best cheap multipen sold today?

In order of awesomeness:

I didn't mention this in the video but the Coleto series has the old body style (as seen on the original 2-color one) and the new body, known as the "N" as seen on the 3-color one. There used to be a 3-color in the old body style, but I do not believe it's still being sold.

I've been on a multi pen binge lately. I ordered the Tombow multi pen....it looks promising, and it has a twist eraser of quality. The pen has 2 colors and it's a mechanical pencil.

I've been looking into the Dr Grip 4+1 multi pen. It seems that there is a plastic version and a higher end metal version. I believe I've ordered the plastic version as it might be lighter and therefore usable, but would be interested to hear from someone that has owned/ used both versions on which version they prefer... the metal version looks nicer but too heavy perhaps?

The Bic 4 color 3+1 is my current regular use multipen. I have the classic 4 color Bic as well with a Uni 4+1 on the way.

I just got my hands on the Coleto 2-color. I fill mine with Blue-Black and Pink ink. It's made of strong plastic. Its refills slide down smoothly. It has a decent grip width at 9.6 mm (at least for me, a woman w/small hands, thin fingers), a not-to-short, not-to-long length at 5.5 inches, and holds the excellent Hi-Tec-C gel refills which are offered in many colors and different tip sizes. I appreciate the ridged grip section which gives a more secure grip. I'm not a fan of the branding on the clip. I wish it were subtle or with a more "grown-up" styling. I would have liked a larger body color selection. My favorite multi is the Acro 1000 in Silver. In second place is the Uni Jetstream Slim Compact 3-color, third is the Pilot Acroball 4-color. Did you know that the thicker the pen, the better to write for long periods ? And Pilot Dr. Grip is one of the best multi pens.

So what I’m looking for? Fine< .03 nib, darkest ink colour(s)+ smooth write, a fine nib pencil, slim enough to fit any pen loops, to be able to write on hobonichi paper with going through, good drying time for ink/gel, but last but not leas, and very important- price, plenty of ink to last well... CAN YOU HELP?
