Mr. RUDYTEJANO PEÑA was born and raised in Laredo, Texas. After completing a successful twenty-five year military career, he retired from the United States Navy. Today he is a devoted and dedicated advocate for the acknowledgement and recognition of UNITED STATES Tejano / Texan distinguished identity, culture and heritage. Currently, legions of original Tejano descendants reside in Texas. Descendants of Tejanos may also be found in the United States and around the globe. Historically, Untied States born Tejanos may be descendants of early European settlers and indigenous people, who populated the territory during the early 1600’s. Theoretically, it’s from combinations of these early Tejas diverse cultures, Tejanos and Tejanas emerged, evolved and developed. Traditionally, combinations of Spaniards and local Indigenous people are the most prevalent. It’s not unusual to find other European influence in the fancy Tejano appearance of beautiful women and handsome men. The distinctive features of these cultural combinations, in many cases attribute to the classic Texas born Tejano appearance. The other major influence has been from Mexico and the United States. While historians, educators and societies in general have acknowledged and recognized Latinos, Mexican, Hispanics, Mexican-Americans and Chicanos, somehow they have completely ignored and excluded the existence and identity of United States Texas born Tejanos. Mr. Pena is currently one of very few United States born Tejano citizens relating Tejas / Texas historical references and events from a Tejano /Texan perspective, rather than from an Hispanic, Mexican-Texan, Latino, Mexican, Chicano, Mexican-American or persons of non-Hispanic origin point of view. He emphasizes significant, pertinent Tejas / Texas historical accounts, events and references, demonstrating participation and actual involvement of original Tejanos.
Mr. Peña invites the entire world to re-discover the truth and give credit to all deserving Tejano and Tejana pioneers. He welcomes and encourages all others who have similar origins and views to support his noble efforts and cause. His presentations include Tejano contributions to the American Revolution 1776, Battle of Medina 1813 first Tejas /Texas short lived Independence, Successful struggle for Independence from Spain 1821, only two native Tejanos / Texans, who signed the Texas Declaration of Independence 2nd March 1836, Tejas / Texas Revolution, U.S. Mexican War Civil War, World War I and II, Korean conflict, Vietnam, Dessert Shield and Storm.
