Some actors who play the Doctor were big fans of the show (Tennant, Capaldi etc). Some weren't that familiar (Smith, Eccleston etc.). What I love about Gatwa is how, despite the show being on his radar growing up, he clearly wasn't a massive Whovian, but… he is throwing himself 110% into the universe. That's the sign of a dedicated actor.

That speech from Sylvester at the end of Survival is still bittersweet for me. Reminds me of when Doctor Who was snatched away from me as a kid. Just when it was going gangbusters

I cant believe he missed out john hurt as the war doctor and jo martin as the ruth doctor which were the other 2 main ones (especially john hurt as he was a big part of the time war)

Edit: just saw other people pointed this out already and he was only talking about the core doctors so only the main ones with a number associated to them so 1 to 15, war doctor and ruth doctor are not main core doctors to have a series on the main show
