I've had a phone call to say I've managed to secure my first allotment, which i'm over the moon about! Just found your channel and finding your videos on clearing the allotment extremely useful. Will be binge watching as much as I can.

Yes Joe you need work boots! In that hole you should put some big branches in there to hold the water it will up take for many years afterwards! Great job Joe, you're a worker for sure!

Hey, Ruby here in Alabama. I like your eye for detail, and persistence. That's the way I like my little garden. I couldn't handle a big garden like you do cause I've gotten older, and that seems to get in my way. Haha. This may sound crazy, but, I love seeing all those little seeds popping their heads up above the dirt trying to live and thrive. It's like the earth is giving birth to hundreds of little plants finally saying, WE MADE IT!! I take care of them, and they feed me. A good deal. Can't wait to see how you whip that spot of dirt into shape.

Hi Joe, you are working so hard .
What a good idea about putting weeds, and rotten wood in a hole. I will be adding this to my helpful list.. keep up the good work. Take care . JJ.XX

When we moved into our house I dug out the compost bin and found alot of garbage including Christmas lights. What are people thinking??? I like this new plot more than the old one and your neighbors seem nicer.

Getting my first allotment with zero experience this week, think this series will be invaluable

Cheering you on from across the pond. It is good to see all the hubbub behind you and you can finally "dig in" and begin creating. I really enjoyed this video. Positive vibes with this one.

Hi Joe. Watching you just made my back hurt even more then it does now. I'm so glad that you are in your happy place. There is a lot of work to getting a plot ready. I guess I was lucky that the two gardens we had where already & we didn't have to put a lot of work into them to get them ready. I wish I could do that kind of work now but I can't anymore. Just will do my waist high beds. Glad the weather has stop raining for now for you for now. Happy gardening. Della, Iowa, US. :) :)

Thank you for the video!
It is definitely a lot of work to get the plot set up. It is easy to get discouraged in the beginning, but just a few more days and it will look like a totally different piece of ground! Thank you for sharing your adventure on the new plot.

That's a god strong start there Joe. Just booked Friday and Saturday off work so I can get started on my new half plot thinking I'll take snaps of my progress.
Aslo onion sets and spuds to bed in, on the main plot. Can't wait to see the next instalment 👍
