I know many would think that this series may be though that it's out of date, but that is only partially true. This is an excellent course to follow if you want to introduce Laravel to yourself. Sure some approaches like the syntax of the routes may have change, but other than that, it's pretty awesome. Good enough to get you started on any version of Laravel. If I ever need to point someone to a tutorial on Laravel, I would definitely have them go through this series. It's explained in a manner that anyone can understand. The differences between the versions can always be searched. The bulk of what you need to know is explained best in this series very well! So I hope Traversy never take it down thinking it's out of date... don't!

I took both the 'from scratch' course at Traversy and Laracasts and I prefer this one big time!!! For all newbies to Laravel, this course will give you the knowledge to build a nice site when you're done while the Laracasts one left me with lots of questions. This course gives you all the basic knowledge you need. Off course there is a lot more to learn about Laravel after this course but you can pick that up on a when-needed base. Absolute recommendation

Although the series is a bit outdated, I still manage to use the later versions of the software used in this series and still managed to make it work.
