Trikes are for everyone! I did a through tour of the C&O canal on my trike. They are great for touring.

I'm a healthy, athletic male who rides a trike because it is comfortable, fun and cool. I also ride a Brompton, a mountain bike and a road bike. The trike is great for touring and last year I took the boat from the UK to Spain and cycled home along the Atlantic coast of Spain/France, wild camping all the way. I absolutely LOVE it! Joe. UK.

I got my trike for fun. I was never serious about cycling until I got a trike. I even enjoy riding it in the garage on rollers. Who wouldn't enjoy combining a La-Z-Boy with pedals and a gocart? I've progressed from being a 50 year old who couldn't sustain 12mph for 5 miles to now riding 30 miles averaging 15mph (and 500ft of total climb) at 60.

I have a Terra Trike and I love it. I call it the beast. My late husband bought me my trike. I've had both knees and my right hip replaced. Now I'm looking at back surgery. I would never be capable of riding again without my Terra Trike. It truly been a God sent. Now I'm 70 and truly love to is ng it.my late husband lol when I went riding with my helmet on with a sun brim.

I ride my trike for longer tours, it is just so much more comfortable than my upright bike I use only for short trips in the city. I can use these big bags for recumbent bikes, tow a trailer and go on long camping holiday trips. I have a tent that is big enough to park the trike inside, so I can also use it as some sort of rack for the things that should not lay on the ground. And I can bike as slowly as I like (or must..) and do not fall over. I also love that my hands do not get numb that fast (or even at all) as on my upright.
The downside is the space it takes when parked and transporting it in a train is always some sort of adventure, but it is possible.
And did I say riding the trike (a Scorpion) is FUN? Especially downhill, even fully loaded and with the trailer (a Y-Frame) its just nice to speed down a softly curved bike path. At least when the ground is smooth and not made of cobble stones...

I'm in the UK, and bought one of the first ICE trike models some 20 years ago. It's an old hardtail which I loved, but hated winching myself up the many hills whilst pedestrians walked past me faster. I hung it up in my barn until Winter 2021, when fuel prices just became prohibitive. Now I've tidied her up (paint job to follow), put on friction shifters, new seat covers and a 1.5Kw rear hub motor @52v x 17AH. Now she flies up those hills, and careful power management I regularly run a 60 mile round trip to my favourite cafe. I'd love a new ICE, but that'll have to wait.

When I go out on my trike I get a lot of attention from people of all ages particularly teenagers who describe the trike as a cool way to get sround, calling g their friends to have a look. I don't have balance issues or any disabilities but I just enjoy the comfort and visibility i have (both seeing and being seen). The trike is a fun and energetic way to get around and get a good workout as well.
I think thdt the main obstacle for most younger people to owning and riding a trike is cost, there are many other demands on their income and justifying the high outlay involved is difficult, perhaps some firm will produce and market a proper low cost option then we will see mass adoption of these great machines 👍
