Kate McKinnon literally looks the same in Ghostbusters…like that irks me so much, like she just had a silly hairstyle that literally looked like the same one on the SNL clip they used.

John Hurt was unrecognizable in The Elephant Man. I thought the actor's features were real after watching it when I was a kid. Charlize's monster character was also good.

Ugly Betty was not ugly at all - America Ferrera was cute as heck in that role. Same with Kate McKinnon - that look totally did it for me.

Another example: Michelle Pfeiffer played an old, wrinkled witch in "Stardust". Though she only appeared like this towards the end of the film, as she used magic to look young most of the time.

I wouldn't consider Kate McKinnon as Holtzman to be ugly or conceived as such; she was the only Ghostbuster to have taken extra care with her appearance, going for a somewhat sexed-up mechanic look. Kristin Wigg refrained from applying the slight polish that she used frequently on SNL and beyond to go from normal to effortlessly glam; it was all about the brains.
