When I was a kid riding my bike along the Wabash River in Il. to my "secret" fishing holes every once in awhile my uncle Fred would show up. He liked his beer a lot to say the least. My first beer was PBR thanks to uncle Fred! It didn't matter where you were in the river bottoms or Main Street in my hometown of "Old York" uncle Fred had PBR in his trunk! It was always trunk temp! Nothing worse than 102 degree trunk PBR on a July day!

Its a great knot easy to tie. I likey the knots that dont cynch up to the hook eye. Feel the fly gets better movement. But cannot prove it until I catch something hopefully before the next millinium. Anothe splendiferous video. Thats for the laughs and of corse the valuable info. Keep them coming....👍

The difficulty of tying this knot is directly proportional to, coldness of hands, blowing wind, blurred vision and snot running out of your nose,
ALL AT THE SAME TIME!!

Some of my best knots were tangles that I just cut the loops out of and tied multiple flies onto.

PBR is a must when practicing tying any knot. Important note: Chill your “PBR” to exactly 36.2 degrees before starting.

I like to double loop it through the eye of the lure before I start my knot. Super improved clinch knot!

Oh Man, I'm thinking about getting a tie rite!!! I guess I'm a grandma or something, well I am a grandpa. it seems quicker and less hooks in the finger. I'm getting one and don't care what you think :) Really like and appreciate your videos. Still getting one!!

I found that from 7x to 50# test mono, improved clinch wins every battle. I tie one hook to each end of a 2 foot section of line, one of each knot I want to test, then I hang one hook from a hook in my garage and a carabiner and use my weight to break the line and see which knot held. Improved clinch is undefeated vs, palomar, uni, clinch, orvis, Eugene bend knot, no-slip loop(although strength is not why we tie no-slip loops) and every other jumble of line I've tried.

I use a balloon knot. Smells funky when you spit on it but boy is it tight.

This is the knot I have grown up tying. Do I listen to the dweebs who say there are better knots or just stick with it?
