Thank you for showing it with the monofilament as well. It always look easy using the larger lines so it's confidence building to see you do the knot with the smaller line.

Terrific video. Thanks so much for sharing. The secret to not pull the short end is key to successfully tying this type of knot. Tight lines everyone!

Been using this knot for my entire life. It has never failed me once.

That’s a good knot video.  Good lighting.  Good voiceover.  Good pace.  Good handwork.

This is very strong knot, thanks for sharing. One thing I would suggest to keep a bit more tag end just a little bit more if big fish hooked and pull the line more forcefully, if there is little tag end fish can pull and free herself. With more tag end, knot will knot tighter and tighter when pulled. Line can be broken but knot will untie. :)

Found this video under another how to for this knot and this video did a far better job demonstrating how to tie the knot. Thank you for this!

Thank you for showing with a larger line and hook first, much easier to understand than just reading a description.

Hi all. Been tying this knot all my life hooks and swivels !!!! Never ever let me down and still use it to this day even snagged on wrecks and rough ground hooks staightend But never this knot . It's everyone to there own but I highly recommend this knot and I've been a fishermen for 45 years sea river and lakes. I've tried every knot there is to know but this knot will always be number one for me 😃😃😃 as they say tight lines everyone.

All these years I've used a clinch knot. Now I will try the IMPROVED clinch knot, especially on light weight tippet. Abooyah booyah boo.

This is the ONLY knot I ever use & I have landed a 30lb pike with it. I ONLY use PowerPro braided line on all my reels, spinning or baitcasting. However, I go thru the eye of the hook TWICE, then continue just like you showed in the video. I always do 7 wraps or twists - less than that and it seems weak(although I have never had a knot pull loose) & more than 7 and it tries to bind up as you're trying to cinch it down. That's just my own personal experience in fishing since the late 1980s(I am 55 yrs old). Great video!

You are right on about not pulling on the tag end. Only pulling on the main line after wetting the knot is the key. I just finished testing a properly tied improved clinch against the orvis knot that is supposedly stronger, but the improved clinch held up better. I have been pulling on the tag end for years and just recently did some experimenting and discovered what you are showing! I believe others out there are tying this wrong as well.

Thanks for a great video! Easy to follow along. (And no pauses in the middle to tell a long story about the knot)

The diagram I learned ths from gave the impression I had to pull both the tag end and the main line. Still worked but half the time it never looked quite right and I had to do it again, I also had to hold the swivel in my mouth to pull on both ends with both hands. This looks much easier thanks.

Great Video. Going out tomorrow and learning these knots is harder than the casting learning curve!

GREAT VIDEO! Visually and short and too the point. Other guys want to talk and talk to hear themselves talk for simple video. Thanks for not being long winded and using a good contrasting background to show the viewers better.
Question: im going to try this knot on my bass lures. How many wraps do u recommend for 6 pound to 10 pound fluoro?

My only knot I use. Used with braid also but twice through the eye with braid and once with mono. Caught 80 lbs sturgeon in California knot never fails

My first knot too. Still the best all around. I do use the simple Snell on my hooks though.
