I’m a Brit, when I went to LA for the first time, I went with my brother and we went to Kate Mantilini’ for lunch, so excited, we walked in and asked the host “where did they sit?”.The guy was very kind and sat us in the same spot. We were chuffed to bits! Thank you! Heat is still my favourite film and been a fan of Michael Mann since Miami Vice from the 80’s.

Best part of that scene for me was after Pacino says, " ...brother, I'm gonna have to put you down." Then the Deniro pause, and it might have been one of the greatest pauses in film history, he flashes a profile and, "...there's a flip side to that coin." I was floored.

I'm not a huge fan of superhero movies, although The Dark Knight might be the best one of that genre. But the very first time I watched The Dark Knight without knowing Nolan or any of his influences at all, all I could think of was "Heat" when I saw the way the city was shot in that movie.

Anyway, this video is very unique because Robert De Niro actually says something on his own without having to get every word dragged out of him, at 2:04 and 2:11. It should be in the national archive for this reason.

Heat is ABSOLUTELY one of the greatest films ever made, it is my all-time favorite just as it is for so many others out there, and yet it doesn't seem to get anywhere near the recognition and appreciation that it so richly deserves .. People out there who are relatively unfamiliar with Heat need to watch classic clips like this one to have a better understanding of just how epic this movie truly is 👌
