Answer: Originally the given equation is a rational equation. Upon using proportion or by using cross multiplication, the simplified equation becomes a quadratic equation. That is why number 5 is considered as a quadratic equation.

ax²+bx+c=0

ax² = quadratic term (a CAN NEVER BE 0! 12:55)

bx= linear term
c = constant term
