Brandan Robertson, Robert Breaker, Gene Kim, and Rightly Dividing the Word of Truth

We have a MAJOR problem. Many Dispensationalists (not all) simply cannot defend the consistency, coherency, and cohesiveness of the scripture. Almost daily, I get emails, private messages, and more about how I don't understand the gospel because I don't accept that Jesus preached a works gospel and that Paul preached the true gospel of grace. I readily get told that Hebrews and James are for Tribulation Jews and not for the Christian Church. I am told that the gospels do not contain a gospel that saves today. Jews have one way of being saved. Gentiles another. There is one gospel for this time period and another gospel for this other dispensation, and yet another gospel for this time yet to come. It is frustrating on so many levels.

Some time back, I did a video titled, "What Good is a Perfect Bible if You Have Horrible Theology?" These guys will fight to the death in defense of the King James Version and tell everyone they know that one must rightly divide the word of truth, only to butcher the gospel. There is a pox on the Christian church today. There is a cancer within Fundamentalism. I wish I could say that it could be limited to Mid-Acts Dispensationalism, but it cannot. Many Dispensationalists proclaim Mid-Acts Dispensationalism and then deny that they do so. But, they still divide the gospel.

There are several popular IFB Internet preachers espousing this heresy of multiple gospels. They will tell you that people were saved by works at one point in the past. Then there was a time when people were saved by faith+works. Now, one can only be saved by Paul's gospel (not Jesus'), and during the Great Tribulation, works will once again be required for people to be saved.

OK why is Kim wrong?

Pual makes it clear we 😢are saved by faith alone.

James makes it clear salvation is not by faith alone, but by works and faith.

It’s literally right there in the Bible .

How do you explain this apparent contradiction?

Kim has an answer that makes sense to me . I’m not a radical. The reading of the text is clear. James a Jew is writing a letter to Jews. Literally in James the first verse. He’s states he is writing a letter to the 12 tribes of Israel. I think that’s relevant. He’s not writing to the gentile church. James is being consistent with what Jesus preached and told him to do. Jesus told the apostles to go to Jerusalem, then Judah, and then Samaria and the outer parts of the world.

Just like, when Jesus said, I did not come, but for the house of Isreal . Jesus made it clear that he did not come for gentiles, but only for the Jews.

What’s the problem? Pastor give us your explanation of this contradiction.

Don’t give me your a claim Kim is wrong. Why is Kim wrong?

What did James mean?

If we do not rightly divide, we will not understand the Bible correctly. See 2nd Tim. 2, 15. God talks to different people groups in a different manner. Yes, He is the same yesterday, today and forever. Hebrews, 13, 8. His character never changes. That's what we have to consider. And He is Lord, and that's the way He made it up.

Brandan Robertson must be reading a different Bible than me... He said "Paul never met Jesus"... Did he not read what happened to Paul, that converted him from killing Christians to becoming Christian??? Meeting Jesus is what converted Paul, and Jesus is the very One who started Paul on his mission in the first place...

It is written:
Acts 9:3-6 NIV:
3 As he neared Damascus on his journey, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him.
4 He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?”
5 “Who are you, Lord?” Saul asked. “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting, ” he replied.
6 “Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”

CSB:
3 As he traveled and was nearing Damascus, a light from heaven suddenly flashed around him. 4 Falling to the ground, he heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?”
5 “Who are you, Lord?” Saul said. “I am Jesus, the one you are persecuting, ” he replied.
6 “But get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”

King James Version(For those who would discredit the more readable version above):
3 And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:
4 And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?
5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
6 And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.

Paul was endorsed by three who walked with Jesus. He preached the same Gospel as they did: "And when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given unto me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship; that we should go unto the heathen, and they unto the circumcision." (Ga. 2:9)

No the mystery was given to Paul grace. And Peter and Paul agreed in a room that Paul was right for Peter had the dream.

The problem you’ll run into is: 1. You have to explain the book of James outside of Dispensationalism, or you’ll be at risk of running into a theology that’s more aligned with the Roman Catholic Church. 2. You have to be able to explain clear differences in between Jesus coming to the Jews and the change that took place in Acts. 3. You have to be able to explain all the passages outside of James and the books of Paul that discuss works. 4. You run the risk of leaving people at a place of loss and confusion when you “debunk” or cast doubt on Dispensationalism without explaining what the alternative is.

"Rightly Dividing" is understanding the difference between the Old Covenant given to Moses at Mount Sinai and the New Covenant fulfilled in blood at Calvary.

Who is now the King of Israel in John 1:49? Is the King of Israel now the Head of the Church, and are we His Body? Why did God allow the Romans to destroy the Old Covenant temple and the Old Covenant city, about 40 years after His Son fulfilled the New Covenant promised in Jeremiah 31:31-34 in blood at Calvary?

Once a person comes to understand the New Covenant promised to Israel and Judah in Jeremiah 31:31-34, which is found fulfilled by Christ during the first century in Hebrews 8:6-13, and Hebrews 10:16-18, and specifically applied to the Church in 2 Corinthians 3:6-8, and Hebrews 12:22-24, man-made Bible doctrines fall apart.

Let us now learn to preach the whole Gospel until He comes back. The King of Israel is risen from the dead! (John 1:49, Acts 2:36)

We are not come to Mount Sinai in Hebrews 12:18. We are come instead to the New Covenant church of Mount Zion and the blood in Hebrews 12:22-24.

Who is really teaching “Replacement Theology” ?
(Did God fulfill His promises to the Jewish people at Calvary? Matthew 26:28, John 19:30)

The advocates of modern Dispensational Theology often accuse others of promoting “Replacement Theology”, or some may even say “Antisemitism”. What does the Bible say about their accusations?

1. Who is replacing Christ as the seed of Abraham through which all the families of the Earth would be blessed in Genesis 12:3, with Abraham’s modern descendants? (See Paul’s interpretation in Galatians 3:8.)

2. Who is replacing the one people of God in John 10:16, with two peoples of God ?

3. Who is replacing the one seed (Christ) in Galatians 3:16, with the many seeds?

4. Who is replacing the children of the promise in Romans 9:8, with the children of the flesh?

5. Who is replacing the faithful “remnant” of Israelites in Romans 11:1-5, with the Baal worshipers?

6. Who is replacing the word "so" in Romans 11:26, with the word "then"?

7. Who is attempting to replace the Church made up of all races of people, with one made up only of Gentiles? Why did Peter address the crowd as “all the house of Israel” in Acts 2:36, when about 3, 000 Israelites accepted Christ on the Day of Pentecost?

8. Based on Hebrews 9:15, the New Covenant cannot be separated from the Messiah’s death. Is the covenant in Daniel 9:27 connected to the Messiah’s death in Daniel 9:26. Is the covenant with the “many” in Daniel 9:27 the same covenant with the “many” in Matthew 26:28? If it is, some have replaced the New Covenant in Daniel 9:27 with a future covenant made by an antichrist not found in Daniel chapter 9. (See the 1599 Geneva Bible used by the Pilgrims.)

9. Those promoting the Two Peoples of God doctrine of Dispensational Theology often accuse others of teaching “Replacement Theology”, but are they the masters of it? Are they promoting a form of Dual Covenant Theology based on race? (See “genealogies” in Titus 3:9) Is the most important genealogy in the Bible found in Matthew 1:1? Is God's Son the ultimate fulfillment of Israel? Why has the modern Church done a pitiful job of sharing the Gospel with modern Orthodox Jews? Why would someone tell them they are God's chosen people and then fail to share the Gospel with them? Who is the seed of the woman promised in Genesis 3:15? Who is the "son" in Psalm 2? Who is the "suffering servant" of Isaiah 53? Who would fulfill the New Covenant promised in Jeremiah 31:31-34? Who would fulfill the timeline of Daniel chapter 9 before the second temple was destroyed? Why have we not heard this simple Old Testament Gospel preached on Christian television in the United States on a regular basis?

10. Watch the YouTube video “Genesis of Dispensational Theology” to see the origin of this man-made doctrine, which is less than 200 years old. It was brought to the United States about the time of the Civil War by John Nelson Darby. The doctrine was later incorporated into the notes of the Scofield Reference Bible, and then spread through much of the modern Church.

Dallas Theological Seminary in Dallas Texas was created in part to promote John Darby’s Two Peoples of God doctrine of Dispensational Theology.
Lewis Sperry Chafer, the first president of Dallas Theological, had the following to say about the difference between Israel and the Church:

“The dispensationalist believes that throughout the ages God is pursuing two distinct purposes: one related to the earth with earthly people and earthly objectives involved which is Judaism; while the other is related to heaven with heavenly people and heavenly objectives involved, which is Christianity.”
Lewis Sperry Chafer, Dispensationalism (Dallas, Seminary Press, 1936), p. 107.

Chafer states that, ‘Israel is an eternal nation, heir to an eternal land, with an eternal kingdom, on which David rules from an eternal throne, ’ that is, on earth and distinct from the church who will be in heaven.”
Lewis Sperry Chafer. Systematic Theology. 1975. Vol. IV. pp. 315-323.

John Walvoord, another prominent voice of Dallas Theological stated…

"...it is an article of normative dispensational belief that the boundaries of the land promised to Abraham and his descendants from the Nile to the Euphrates will be literally instituted and that Jesus Christ will return to a literal and theocratic Jewish kingdom centred on a rebuilt temple in Jerusalem. In such a scheme the Church on earth is relegated to the status of a parenthesis.”
John F. Walvoord, The Rapture Question.1979, p. 25

Are there two peoples of God in John 10:16? (See also 1 John 2:22-23, 2 John 1:7-11.)

What is the land promise to the Old Testament Saints in Hebrews 11:15-16?
(See what Joshua said about the Old Covenant land promise in Josh. 21:43.)

Based on 2 Peter 3:10-13, is this earth “eternal”? Will it be replaced by a new earth?

Based on Acts 2:36, and Romans 9:6-8, and Romans 11:1-5, and Hebrews 12:22-24, and James 1:1-3, can faithful Israel and the Church be separated into two different groups?

Who is the New Covenant promised to in Jeremiah 31:31-34, and is it fulfilled by the blood of Christ at Calvary in Hebrews 8:6-13, and Hebrews 12:18-24?

Will modern Orthodox Jews ever be saved outside of the New Covenant Church, if the New Covenant is “everlasting” in Hebrews 13:20? (See also 2 Thess. 1:7-10) If the New Covenant has made the Old Covenant “obsolete” in Hebrews 8:6-13, why would God go back to the Old Covenant system during a future time period?

Brandon Robertson speaking at 10:17-24: "Paul never met Jesus, never heard Jesus preach. Paul only knows Jesus through second-hand knowledge."
Response: You would think that with his theology degrees Brandon might be familiar with these three passages from the Acts of the Apostles:
1. Acts 9:3-6 (KJV): And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven: And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, "Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?" And he said, "Who art thou, Lord?" And the Lord said, "I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks." And he trembling and astonished said, "Lord, what wilt thou have me to do?" And the Lord said unto him, "Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do."
2. Acts 22:17-21 (KJV): And it came to pass, that, when I was come again to Jerusalem, even while I prayed in the temple, I was in a trance; And saw Him saying unto me, "Make haste, and get thee quickly out of Jerusalem: for they will not receive thy testimony concerning Me." And I said, "Lord, they know that I imprisoned and beat in every synagogue them that believed on Thee: And when the blood of thy martyr Stephen was shed, I also was standing by, and consenting unto his death, and kept the raiment of them that slew him." And He said unto me, "Depart: for I will send thee far hence unto the Gentiles. "
3. Acts 23:11 (KJV): And the night following the Lord stood by him, and said, "Be of good cheer, Paul: for as thou hast testified of Me in Jerusalem, so must thou bear witness also at Rome."

without change are you truly repentant? that is the real question. it is by grace through faith that we are saved, but faith without works is dead. it is never ok to sin. works for salvation, no. salvation producing works, yes.

Dr. James White addressed Braden Patterson on the Dividing Line yesterday. Great video brother, I'm having to wash myself of a lot of my Scofield's influences on my life. I love the chain references in it and the concordance and dictionary are excellent, but those notes man. Great video bro, keep up the good work.

Can the doctrine in James 2:21-24 be used for the Church?

Romans 4:3-11 For what saith the scripture? *Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. 4Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. 5But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.* 6Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works, 7Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered. 8Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin. 9Cometh this blessedness then upon the circumcision only, *or upon the uncircumcision also?* for we say that faith was reckoned to Abraham for righteousness. *10How was it then reckoned?* when he was in circumcision, or in uncircumcision? *Not in circumcision, but in uncircumcision.* 11And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had yet being uncircumcised: that he might be the father of all them that believe, though they be not circumcised; that righteousness might be imputed unto them also:

James 2:21-24 *Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?* *22Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?* 23And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. *24Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.*

Paul uses Genesis 15:5-6 for Abraham's Justification by faith. Abram was a GENTILE, his name had not been changed to Abraham yet. He was not circumcised until Genesis 17:10. Paul tells us Abraham was Justified in UNCIRCUMCISION as a gentile.

And he brought him forth abroad, and said, *Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be. 6And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness.*

James is written to: James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the *twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, * greeting. (1:1)

Abraham was Justified by faith AND works as the first Jew AFTER circumcision. Paul tells us there are three divisions of man today:

1 Cor. 10:32 Give none offence, neither to the *Jews, * nor to the *Gentiles, * nor to the *church of God:*

While there is some doctrine applicable to the Church in James' epistle it is addressed to the Twelve Tribes. Either you are a lost Jew, a lost gentile, or you are a saved man in the Body of Christ/the Church. Hebrews is also addressed to the Hebrews. Notice that the promise in Genesis 15 is that Abraham's seed was to be as the stars.

In Genesis 22: That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, *and as the sand which is upon the sea shore;* and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies; The promise is expanded from the stars to include the sand of the seashore. The sand of the seashore is given *territorial possession.* (Possess the gate of his enemies).

If you state that Abraham was Justified in the sight of men in James Chapter 2, WHO was with Abraham and Isaac when Abraham offered his son?

Genesis 22:3
And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took *two of his young men with him, * and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him.
(v. 4-5)
Then on the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place afar off.
*5And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you.*

No witness to Abraham's faith except for Isaac and the Lord.

1. Who is the Book of James written to?
2. Was Abraham Justified before men when he offered Isaac?
3. How was Abraham's Justification reckoned according to Paul?
4. Does "qualifying" faith answer the discrepancies between Romans 4:4-10 and James 2:21-24?

Abraham was Justified before God BOTH TIMES, not before men. James 2:19 Thou believest that there is one God; *thou doest well:* the devils also believe, and tremble. James commends this man for his faith, not that it is a "saving" faith, or a "dead" faith. Devils cannot be saved, for they are a spirit. Jesus Christ was *manifest in the flesh to save men.* James 2:22 *Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?* Abraham the JEW did the work of offering Isaac. And by this WORK his FAITH was made complete. No "saving" faith, "dead" faith, etc. (v. 26) For as the *body* without the spirit is dead, so *faith without works* is dead also.
Dead body=no spirit. Faith - works=dead body.

To further prove that Romans Ch. 4 And James Ch. 2 are written to two different people consider that the original promise to Abram by believing what God told him about the stars (Genesis 15) is expanded in Genesis 22 to the sands of the sea AND A LAND PROMISE.

Genesis 22:17
That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, *and as the sand which is upon the sea shore;*
and thy *seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;*

Christians are never given a land promise.

As far as a sodomite Pastor or lgtbq ou8i2+!@ whatever, no dispensational Baptist would approve of his preaching or being a Pastor, let alone a teacher.
The Old Testament condemns sodomy as does the New (Romans Chapter 1). To conclude that both a sodomite "Pastor" and a Bible believing dispensational Baptist into the same heresy is a faulty polemic similar to the first century heresy of "Two Powers in Heaven" leveled at Christians to designate them "heretics" along with gnostics by the Jews.
