I wish they would stop calling it ballistic missiles these are not ballistic missiles that are being fired at the US they're guided missiles, and yes there's a big difference.

The Houthis imposed a blockade Why dont the US resoect the blockade? International waters? There are some countries that do not respect iternational law. Why should they? In any case, Yemen is the only country enforcing internstional law and UN resolutions. They fulfill their duties as a UN member

The missiles have a rather finite shelf life, so they'd eventually just be scrapped if not used.

Also, quite a few drones have been shot down by fighter jets, which is more cost effective. (One of our pilots got 7 kills early on, B4 his ship, the Bataan, went back to the Med.)

That said, one can't play defense forever. Eventually a malfunction or human error will result in a ship getting hit. Plus at the moment the area to be defended is way too big for a few AD ships to cover. In fact, NO ship being so "covered" has been hit, but even if you have a successful interception rate of 99.9%, if you let the offender send 1000 attacks, well...

It is absurd to use million dollar missiles to destroy thousand dollar drones.
Only LASER defense is cost-effective in dealing with drones.

I do not know how stupid the leaders of the United States are. They warned the Houthis against ships heading to Israel. The Houthis also said, “Just stop the war and genocide on the Gaza Strip, and the blockade in the Red Sea will end.” Is this a difficult matter?

Big difference in ballistic and guided missiles, folks! Get the story straight. And quit this crap about how much a missle costs. It's cheaper to fire a missile than replace an entire ship! 😮
