You're my hero! 3 kids, 3 dogs, and a bunny plus I'm a nurse and wear medical compression. We NEED a working washing machine! We were able to find the part and replace it ourselves days before we could find a technician to come out. Thank you, thank you!

Definitely needed this video to figure out how to put the pump back together after I found a nail caught in the blades. Except one thing - at 6:15 where you put in the second screw. I don't think it should go there or it will penetrate the line with the check valve. I ended up putting them in a triangle pattern, the outer holes and the center one instead of the two right next to each other.

Thank you so much for this instructional video! I’m an “older” woman who has never repaired an appliance in my life but I thought why not try a $25 fix myself before doling out money we don’t have? Said prayers and followed your video…. and success!

I've replaced the washer purge motor twice. btw the purge motor is faulty because if you leave the purge tube at full length and down into the wall drain it will cause it to back flow towards the lowest point which is the base of the washer thus leaving the pump face submerged in water. This leads to the pump leaking into to magnets inside the pump. It corrodes and the magnets crack and the polarity is compromised. The manual says to have the tube cut or at the right length just below the opening of the wall drain opening. They don't say it will f up your poorly made motor seal. Why would they?

Thanks for this video. In my case, I think there was a blockage in the hose somewhere. Removing and draining the basin seemed to fix everything. I took apart, inspected, and tested the pump with 120V to be sure.

Thanks for the video. I had a recent water leak with water in the black plastic underneath the drain pump. There is a bad smell from the drain pump when I removed it. Looking to ways to confirm bad drain pump if you have any. I did declog some soap scum type stuff from the external corrugated drain hose that moves water from washer to the PVC drain line, so I'm unsure if the leak was due to faulty drain pump, or a possible clogged external drain hose. No solid blockage, but excessive soap scum buildup?

All of the leaked water was inside the washer, and none of the tub or drain pump assembly rubber hoses were loose or blocked. All the spring clamps felt normal. There was no damage or cracks to the drain pump assembly that I could tell. There was no blockage inside the drain pump assembly.

However, when you rotate the impeller, is it supposed to be smooth rotation, or will there be a part of the rotation that drags? Mine requires extra force at certain points of rotation. It also felt like when I rotated it, the rotation felt easier the more I "worked" it. Feels a little suspicious.

In my case, I have a DC31-00054A on a WA5451ANW/XAA 01.
