To install the driver on a windows 7 pc, plug in your quest via usb cable to pc, go to device manager. You should see "VR headset" with an exclamation symbol next to it, signifying no driver. Right click, select "Update Driver Software", choose "Browse" and select the folder containing the extracted drivers. You'll see "Oculus ADB Interface" once complete.

Thanks for this video Matt, just used it today to finally put Sidequest on my Quest. Just a heads up for anyone doing this who has already enabled Developer mode previously and can't connect to Sidequest. I enabled developer mode back in May to be able to disable the guardian but I still couldn't connect to Sidequest. It turns out that every update developer mode is turned off on your phone settings even though it still shows on the Quest. So I had to go back into my Quest phone app and turn developer options back on in there for Sidequest to recognise it! Took me a while to figure out so thought I'd share in case anybody else has the same issue!

If the accept usb thing won’t come up for you, continue with the steps and it should work, if not, I got lucky 😂

At 2:11 the closest thing I see to android_win.inf is android_winusb. It has the same icon but I cant install it, what do I do?

Btw when I download it its already extracted, I get the oculus-go-and-driver-2.0 automatically

I just got a quest 2 is this still something I can do on my quest 2 or there a different method needed or even possible. Just curious bc this interests me to get the most from my quest but don't want to harm my quest if its not possible with it. Every time I open file it says "android_winusb" never says .inf it just keeps opening note's.

so I've done all of this, windows 10 btw, and when I turn on my quest everything seems fine but now I can't open my library, home screen, or the store. why do you think this is happening, developer mode is on I checked. and it seems that all my games are not playable right now.

Edit: what I did to fix this was factory restet my oculus from the app, but I had to reinstall all my apps and all my progress was lost. And still no sidequest =/

Bought it, got it, connected them.

Laptop and the quest don't find each other. Spinning around and around, Made myself a cup, ate my lunch, still spinning.
What can I do?

What to do if you are not getting the USB permissions accept screen:

1. Make sure you are using a data USB C cable. You can test this by plugging in your phone and seeing if you can open the files on it.
Note: The cable that comes with the quest is only good for charging.
2. Make sure you installed the adb file. You may want to reboot your PC to make sure the changes are applied.
3. There is a glitch where your computer thinks the quest is in Dev mode when it isn't. You can fix this by turning off dev mode, turning off the quest, unplugging the usb cable, turning the quest back on, waiting for it to boot and setting the guardian, connecting the USB (wait a moment for your PC to connect), turn dev mode back on.
Note: You may have to do this once or twice to fix the issue.
4. Dont use VPNs or Wifi extenders. They can sometimes cause issues.
