It's still relatively cheap. Not requiring insurance, tags, gas and regular maintenance saves a lot in the long run.

I think a lot of people lump them into the dirt bike category, but the build quality is not the same. A dirtbike can handle being dropped multiple times without breaking. however a lot of components on a Sur-Ron are carried over from MTB and don't support the weight or speed. Even the Magura brakes; a lot of people pick as the best are not rated for the weight or speed of a Sur-Ron.

I'm really glad u didn't say that they don't ruin jumps or anything because they do I mountain bike and I'm 14, we build dirt jumps not tiny ones, 6 foot tall lips and stuff and surron kids always come ride and destroy them I luv these bikes it's just always the riders that screw up

In Oregon if it goes over 35mph it needs lights, plate, tags and insurance... so they most definitely are illegal in Oregon

Legality for use on the road: most states will classify it as a motorcycle and require motorcycle license and license plates (for the road). Not a bicycle as it doesn't have human powered pedals, and not a moped as it can go faster than 25-40mph (depends on state).

I like the part where he said if its a place where noise is not an issue then you are probably better of with a dirt bike. This is because the amount of people that have told me that a surron is better than my dirt bike because its quiet even though in the Utah no body gives a single frick about the noise, its a desert. Great to see a video stating that.
