I'm a vegetarian in the Army and they only have like three vegetarian options for the MREs. Everyone was always fighting for the Chili Mac while I just wanted the Ratatouille . The struggle was so real.

When i lived with my dad we were going through some tough times money wise and a family friend gave us 3 huge boxes of MREs so i lived off of them for a while. I ended up trying every desperate random combination you could make lol. The Chili Mac was def in the top 3.

It's so funny how other cultures and even Americans react to MRE's. I've spent much time in the fields to include the desert, backwoods, and swamps that I can't stand to even look at them anymore. But I had a mega surplus of them when I retired and all the hunters thought they were in heaven when I gave them to them. Didn't even sell them, just gave them all away for free. This is hilarious!

My dad said when he went to join up he asked around at the v.f.w what branch had the best food. he was told the navy and so he joined up. the irony is he ended up becoming a bubblehead (sub mariner) and they were talking about food on the carriers. 😂 Still he became a nuclear engineer so I think it worked out haha
