You can rest relaxed in the calm sense that nothing will ever be as awesome again as the 80s.

AFTER ALMOST 40 YEARS, THIS IS MY VERY 1ST TIME WATCHING THIS TIMELESS TREASURE. MEL GAYNOR WAS AND WILL ALWAYS BE "THE ULTIMATE SIMPLE MINDS DRUMMER".

What a performance, I would pay good money to see this line up again.
A band on top of their game

This is possibly the most aggressive version. The raw energy is amazing.

Thank the Lord for You Tube so we can watch this masterpiece over and over again. Simple Minds at their best and best line up. Still love them today, been a fan for 37 years but they will never beat New Gold Dream!

My band supported Simple Minds in Stockholm in the autumn of 1979. They were the nicest, coolest blokes and their crew too. My favourite albums were "Sons & Fascination", "Sister Feeling Call", "New Gold Dream", "Empires & Dance", "Real To Real Cacophony" and parts of "Sparkle In The Rain". I was a massive fan of those records and Simple Minds of that era.

Is it really 40 years ago? Unbelievable! Sounds from outer space! My youth.

She’s the one in front of me, the siren and the ecstasy.

This song was way ahead of his time. You can see the lack of enthusiasm of the crowd in 1982. If you put the same song today in a concert the audience will go crazy!

I had forgotten how utterly mesmerising Jim Kerr and his moves were back then. An incredible performance on every level.
