Hi Alana! Nice to find you. I'm new to book tube as well. I enjoyed seeing the books behind you. The need to learn is a big reason I read too.
I'm looking forward to watching your videos.

"At least I am feeding my brain." - yeah, that's why I read, too.

I work with lots of kids. At Halloween, rather than buy kids candy like everyone else, I gift them books. Sugar rots their teeth, sticks to their waists and thighs, but books? Yeah, candy for the brain.

Haha you saying this is the sort of video where you put down the phone and listen instantly felt relatable. My channel is audio only because I'm a totally blind creator and I want my videos to give people the same experience as I have when watching/listening to a video. You should definitely embrace doing whatever you think you will find entertaining and fun. I think having a good time is the most important part of being a content creator. If people can tell you're having a good time they're more likely to enjoy themselves. It's funny because my channel started out purely as a booktube but getting back into reading after 8 years made me want to try writing. Now when I hear people say that reading is a form of escapism that allows them to live in these fictional worlds I feel the same way about writing. Even though I've been "an author", which is a term I still feel uncomfortable with slapping on myself, for less than a year I think it's changed my mindset quite a bit. I've been in a really creative zone which is why my channel has transitioned into more of a creative variety channel. You're right by the way those last two questions really are the same but phrased differently. They achieve the exact same thing :'). I would apologise for the long, rambling, comment but I struggle to keep comments under 1000 words at the best of times and you gave me plenty to think about. I'll wrap it up now. I hope your booktube journey is as fun and rewarding as mine has been.

Hi Alana! I'm glad to hear you read a lot of classics. I don't know a huge number of people I can talk with about Crime and Punishment, The Count of Monte Cristo, or Homer's poems. It's really cool that you've built online community around books already! Hopefully I'll be able to do the same. Looking forward to more videos from you!

I am a huge fan of your book reviews. Your videos are great. I appreciate your style of simple talk with few edits. Thank you for doing this newbie tag. Yeah, consistency is a huge challenge for all of us.

Lovely to get to know you! I’m a new Booktuber as well, and also started mainly for in-depth conversations and community. I really love how streamlined and organised you are in your presentations… I’m a bit of a mess at the moment with lighting, sound, editing and graphics hehe. While I started with contemporary fiction my real love is experimental poetry. I’m hoping to get more into classics thanks to your inspiration. Warm regards, E.

Interaction is one of my favorite parts too. And yes to time commitment being a challenge! I've been neglecting my blog since starting my channel...oops.

I'm very glad to have found your channel (through doomantidote's recent shoutout)! I really enjoy your standalone review format, but I'd also love a video about the ways you annotate in in the future, if that topic interest you
