Neither of them seems to have mentioned that Russia has ALREADY deployed medium range nuclear missiles pointed at Europe. Considering Russia's history over the last four decades regarding it's wars with countries like Chechneya and now Ukraine, what are we supposed to do? Allowing Russia to gain nuclear superiority is INVITING a higher level of aggression from Russia, China, and NK. Also, the leaders of at least two of these antagonists are not exactly sterling examples of mental stability. I am seventy years old and do remember the Soviet Union years as well as the emotional strain we lived under. It would have been ten fold worse if we had NOT maintained superiority in both conventional and nuclear capabilities. Xi, Un, and Puking are not "we'll be nice if you'll be nice" type of guys. If we let them gain the upper hand all we will get is slapped with it. The only way to stay war free is to stay war stronger.
