The oil companies and local contractors deserve more praise than Trudeau and Notley (and a lot more than they've been given). Within 2 hours of the evacuation order Syncrude, Suncor, Shell and multiple local contractors had heavy equipment, HEO's and fire teams enroute to town to assist. Other contractors had fuel trucks stationed on 63 to refuel vehicles. They went well above and beyond.

That was good for JT to visit and address the emergency workers on the ground. I hope, fortunes change for McMurray and Alberta and the Federal Government under JT begin to prop up that communities efforts, universally.

OMG cons are such whiny children. We're all Canadians, of course we are going to help each other out. Grow up.

he did not do this for propaganda...his experts on the ground kept him well informed., him being there would distract from the efforts put forth by the firefighters.

If it was the US president you would need like 50 guards and helicopters and wouldnt let him touch anything. Canadian prime minister, let me pick up that thing over there.

We already know he has a target on our backs. Interesting, he came with empty hands, to date, the only tangible thing he sad was he has increased the size of government a little in response.

There is one thing I never thought I would ever hear, an acknowledgement of how much of how much Fort McMurray has contributed.
