#Ad In this video, I break down the differences between at-home microneedling and chemical peels, discussing their effectiveness for acne scarring, potential risks, and my expert recommendations.

Chemical Peels:
- Can be useful for acne scarring but come with risks.
- High concentrations (70-100% TCA) can lead to complications like scarring and hyperpigmentation.
- Not recommended for at-home use; safer options exist with lower concentrations (e.g., glycolic acid 5-10%).

Microneedling:
- Advocated for safe, conservative use.
- At-home microneedling with long needles can cause excessive scarring.
- Recommended needle length: 0.5 mm for effective collagen stimulation.
- Suggested tool: BANISH microneedling devices, featuring the thinnest needles for reduced risk.

Results Timeline:Expect to see improvements within 1-2 months of consistent use.

Final Advice: Always prioritize safety and consult a dermatologist for best practices in skincare.

Love the last piece of advice. Get your acne under control before trying to treat scars/hyperpigmentation.

Really enjoy the way you simple explain complex issues and give examples. Can you do a future video on best ways to get improve new or old post-surgical scans using lasers, scar sheets or creams/gels?

I saw your older video with the microinfusion systems. Are those systems less effective than the Banish?

What about a milder peel like a %25 to %45 mandelic acid or lactic acid peel, do you still have to wait 3 weeks after microneedling?

I'd like to know: Have you actually used the Banish product? Or just read a script/talking points to the camera without having tried it at all?

I love professionals scare people into not doing these simple procedures at home so ensure their job security. If people knew how simple these procedures actually are nobody would pay the hundreds of dollars professionals charge. Instead you’d spend penny’s on the dollar and do it home.

Can you combine light chemical peels with micro-needling at the same time? My aesthetician offers this combination as a package deal, but I’ve never heard of it. Isn’t it a bit much?

Idk if Dr Lim will reply or not but I hope dear doc can share if:

1. Glycolic peels (like 30% and above) are safe for melanated people in treating skin texture?

2. You mentioned Banisher which is a roller, what are your thoughts on the dermapen type of microneedling?

Thanks.
