I made an UDDER MISTAKE - Australian Sheep Farm Vlog

Our day begins with a routine check on the primeline ewes, but today we encounter a couple of turtled challenges. Two ewes have managed to end up upside down, and we spring into action to carefully flip them back onto their feet. Farm life isn't always smooth sailing, and we even get a little reminder in the form of a friendly kick from one of the ewes.

In this vlog, we take a moment to reflect on the evolving landscape of agriculture, particularly in Victoria, where low meat prices have prompted innovative solutions. We discuss how farmers are adapting to these challenges, including the growing trend of selling meat online. It's a fascinating glimpse into the ways the industry is changing to meet the demands of today's world.

Then I load up the grain trailer and set out to feed our ewes and their hungry lambs. The nutritious grain provides essential sustenance for our flock, and it's always a sight to see the animals eagerly digging in. This is teaching them to eat grain when we get to summer.

Lastly, we introduce you to the other loyal members of our farm team – Dad's work dogs. These skilled and energetic dogs play a vital role in our daily operations, helping us manage and care for the animals. Get to know their personalities and see them in action as they assist us on the farm.

Join us on this farm journey filled with challenges, discussions, and furry companions. Don't forget to hit that like button, leave a comment, and subscribe to our channel for more farm vlogs and insights into our agricultural lifestyle.

Push down a gate - swarm through it, no worries.
Open a gate for them to go through - Lava! They must not cross that threshold!

I grew up on a sheep farm in WA, I am loving this, you are SO authentic and hilarious. My dad was so funny, he taught us to count sheep running/leaping out of a race by “count the legs and divide by four” method. 😂

I think it’s really disgusting how much farmers are paid for meat and fleece. I know that here in UK it’s pretty bad. A lot of farmers struggle to break even. And for fleece it’s even worse. It’s literally pence per kg.
For the meat though the bigger supermarkets etc hike the prices up and the farmer ends up with sod all still. So so shit and unfair.
You’re awesome xx

Selling straight from the paddock makes so much sense. I'd rather buy from the farmer and support their hard work than buying from the supermarket who are causing so many financial issues for farmers. I buy my beef from Our Cow online. Think about it Tara, it could be a good move 👍

We need to get the money into the pockets of our farmers and primary producers instead of in the pockets of massive corporations that drive down prices to the producer and hike them up for consumers.

Good plan Tara, selling your owm meat and keep the bigger profits for yourselves. Talk to your dad again, convince him, it's the way to go.

I worked on a property with 4000 head nearly 60years ago. I'm in awe of your 6000 head.
That's a lot of crutching fly blown sheep.
I don't know if crutching was the worst job because aiming a Land Rover across paddocks while following and digging thistles with a mattock was right up there.
There was always another paddock that needed doing.
Your paddocks are incredibly clean of weeds.
However you do it these days it's still a commendable effort.
I get lost amongst my memories of many years ago watching your videos.
Thanks for the reminder.

I think the algorithm finally grabbed your channel - been binge watching on and off all day. You’re friggen hilarious and I appreciate your blunt good humor towards the realities of farming.

Would love to see a video on how you trained typo and when you decided the slug would become your sheep dog?

The amount we pay for lamb here in NYC is ridiculous compared to the paltry sum you get paid. Go to the store fresh direct and look at their prices. They are a huge online and delivery service in NYC.
