Lindsay Birbeck, a 47-year-old fitness enthusiast from Accrington, Lancashire, England, loved walking and running to stay healthy. On August 12, 2019, around 4:00 p.m., she went for a walk before her daughter, Sarah, and her boyfriend visited for tea at 6:00 p.m. She took her usual route down Burnley Road and Peel Park Avenue towards ‘The Coppice’ in Accrington, a place she frequented for walks. Sadly, this would be the last time she was seen.

You know he understands he did something wrong bc he concocted a whole lie about it. If he wasn’t capable of understanding that he did something wrong, he wouldn’t have lied to cover it up.

He knew what he was doing was evil. There’s no doubt about that.

Zoe running reminds me of how I ran from someone, back when I was 11. From my school bus, I noticed a man loitering around where my bus drops me (and other kids) off. I don't know why I found him suspicious. I started walking home, which was like half a mile down the road. I looked over my shoulder and I saw this man running in my direction. I immediately took off running and didn't stop until I was home. To this day, I know I was right to run.

Stories like this really freak me out and make me over protective about my kids because she was just living her life and a sick stranger kills her for no reason its insane i hope he never gets out

I understand a parent’s love for their child as I am a mother myself, but I cannot stand when parents still claim their child’s innocence in the face of such irrefutable evidence!! 😠

How would a parole board determine if he is no longer a danger if he wasn't seen as a danger before this murder? I hope he never gets out.

"He's my son, and he is innocent..." Good to see that the family raised and condoned everything he has done in life because of his autism. They raised a monster, it's a hard pill to swallow.

I think the simple fact that Zoe ran from him is super telling. He was in that park to find a victim.

"Just because he had autism did not mean he was a murderer." Likewise, just because he had autism did not mean he could NOT be a murderer.

The other walker Zoe must have been horrified that she just as easily could have been the victim. She trusted her gut and got the hell out of there.

He isn’t innocent, he is guilty n evil.
He went out that day looking for someone to kill n unfortunately did just that. He should never be released. Deserves to rot in there.
Something as innocent as going for a walk shouldn’t cost us our lives. This is so sad.
Rest In Peace Lindsay 🕊️🙏

If someone did this to him, he wouldn't enjoy it.

I'll never understand how people can do things to others they'd never want to happen to them.

The fact that she dedicated her life to teach special needs kids and got murdered by one is heartbreaking!

So many people helped to find her. She was loved

Strange how he became verbal once he had to lie about something he'd done. Needs to stay in prison.

Pretty sad this mother had to lose her life to a juvenile delinquent. The video coverage alone showed that this teen was guilty. Did the parents ignore the testimony of the woman who was able to get away? Or did the video not show that he was wearing a hooded sweatshirt with a t-shirt and wet knees as if he were doing something in the woods. He doesn't deserve to see the light of day outside of prison.

Zoe really dodged a bullet there. I saw another video here in Youtube about the importance of listening to your gut and trusting your instincts. That could be the difference between life and death.

I actually live in the same area where this happened and it sent chills down my spine when I heard about this. I went to the same primary school as that monster so it was even more chilling. I never knew Lindsay personally but she seemed like such a lovely lady, may she rest in peace 🕊️

🤔 His family said.. "Just because he has autism, doesn't make him a murderer".. Well then, obviously, just because he has autism, doesn't mean he's incapable of murder. And that's what the jury realized, thankfully😢

It's scary how high alert women have to be just going on a walk. Really sad.
