Outnumbered Games 1 vs. 0 until 4 vs. 4 | Soccer Coaching Drill

Activity Flow:

1. Player 1 (pink team) dribbles into the field with the ball and shoots at the opponent's goal without an opponent

2. After the shooting at the goal, two players from the green team dribble into the field and play a 2 vs. 1 against player 1 from team pink

3. After the 2 vs. 1 situation, another two players from team pink come onto the field and play a 3 vs. 2 situation against team green

4. After the 3 vs. 2 situation, two more players from team green come on the field and play a 4 vs. 3 situation

5. After the 4 vs. 3 situation, the last pink player comes onto the field and plays a 4 vs. 4 situation

6. An action always continues until the ball is in the goal or out of bounds

Organization:

1. Mark an approx. 15x30m field
2. 4 cones
3. Two goals (size of the goals depending on availability)
4. Assign two goalkeepers
5. Divide into two teams (at least 4 players per team)

Coaching Points:

1. Rotate player numbers and control the exercise load, the first player has the highest load

2. Actively dribble towards an opponent in an outnumbered situation to draw the opponent in

3. Timing of the pass to the teammate is key, do not play too early and thereby create space for your teammate

4. Playing determinedly towards the goal and finishing as quickly as possible

Variations:

1. At the end, play several actions in 4 vs. 4 until the exercise starts again from the beginning

2. Increase playing field and play to 6 vs. 6
