My Life With No Arms | BORN DIFFERENT

AN INSPIRATIONAL armless athlete has found her ‘purpose’ and confidence after riding motorbikes as a form of therapy. Nadia Lauricella, 26, from Sicily, has phocomelia syndrome. The rare condition causes malformations of the limbs, resulting in the absence or extreme shortening of bones at birth. Nadia was born without arms, missing part of her leg, and with a curved spine. She was “never bullied at school” but did encounter prejudice from strangers. However, Nadia was determined not to let her condition stop her from living her life to the fullest. She discovered the benefits of motorbike therapy for disabled people after watching a YouTube video showing riders with a range of abilities - and she has confidence now, despite the odds being stacked against her.

I've been down the rabbit hole with these videos, over the past few weeks. I have never met, watched or had the pleasure of being around such brave, strong people. They inspire me, but I also feel ashamed of complaining about the things that I do complain about. Forget movies stars, rock/pop stars, or famous public figures like those, these people should be the worlds role models. They have determination, motivation, they prove you can do whatever you want, you can succeed no matter what the world throws at you. They are the living embodiment faith, hope, love, strength and just exactly what you can achieve, when you set your mind to something.
