CAN MEN WEAR FRAGRANCES FOR WOMEN?

Fragrances have become more and more androgynous, with the unisex fragrance market blowing up in the last little while. My thoughts on wearing women's fragrance goes back and forth. What are your thoughts?

I think a man can wear whatever he wants. I am a guy, and I can confidently say I wear fragrances marketed towards women. It’s nothing wrong with it. If you’re unsure and not confident in your manhood, then I would highly advise against wearing fragrances marketed towards women. But other than that go full force! I myself am going to soon purchase Shalimar, Black Opium, Hypnotic Poison, Dior Addict, etc.

Men should wear rose based frags, because with a suit it's the most sophisticated smell on a man, i'm 54 6ft4 well built man, and women love a rose based frag on me.

I wear D&G light blue intense for women. I bought it for an undeserving female so I took it back .

Her loss, my gain 🤷🏼‍♂️

Glad this video exists, i love the fruity fragrances, If I want to smell like coconut and pineapple, then I'll wear it, if I want to smell like a flower then I'll do so too. The women who like it on me will like it none the less.

Clinique Happy! I wear both the men’s & women’s! Both are clean and smell amazing! Trick is! When I wear the women’s, I wear the fragrance, it doesn’t wear me! Scent has no gender, it’s how it mixes with your biochemistry, and you have to own the scent!

Totally agree. Another thing is that I’m tired to answer the question “Why are you wearing Black Orchid? It’s a women’s fragrance”.

Thanks for your thoughts james 👍🏼
I agree with you, for example I wear TF Black Orchid on certain occasions and I do get compliments like “mysterious, sexy, vodoo like attractive etc” .
Trust me if you feel rock a fragrance in appropriate occasions then there are no male / female fragrances . Cheers.

I don’t think any perfume or fragrance should be directed or advertised towards a certain type of gender. I go for anything man... I just want to smell good.

I wear black orchid and rose ouds. I tend to hear only positive comments. It may be that I am an older man, 66, but I think if you are a confident man there are very few unisex fragrances you can't wear.

Honestly, if other people think you smell like a woman, it's probably because you smell like a woman. You can try to fault it on social conditioning and marketing however you like, and if you don't care about other people's opinions at all, you do you. But I think gender is not answered with "HURR DURR IT'S JUST SCENTED WATER IT HAS NO GENITALS", it's about perception. Maybe it's beautiful and unisex to you, maybe not for others. I for one care about how I am percieved through my fragrance, and wouldn't want to wear something that others think is very feminine. It is usually not a good impression for a man, and I'm not a big muscular guy who can pull it off easier. But more important is how I feel myself about the fragrance. Some fragrances smell very feminine to me. I wouldn't feel good wearing them, and if I don't feel good wearing them, what's the point?

I use a Valentino donna noir absolu. Some dude sold me this perfume at the airport in Dubai. Its a great fragrance and it doesn’t really smells like a woman’s fragrance, for me it just smells good and its something I would use in winter.

I used to wear Gap So Pink EDT back in my college days only because no one else was wearing it. I do get a lot of compliments saying its a refreshing smell, I remembered that vividly coz I also had CK in2u and CK Euphoria both for men and people dont really find those scents likeable, which for me. .well Euphoria was really my favorite when it was initially released

Dude I love your straight shooter style honesty. Thank you so much this was one of my biggest confusions/questions and I identify as straight also, but sometimes I wondered what unisex or more female leaning fragrance would suit a man

I wear Hermès Eau de Merveilles and Chanel No. 19 and i don’t know if they’re unisex but I received many compliments outta them

To me, Chantilly for women smells a lot like an old-school men's aftershave. I would call it a slightly masculine-leaning unisex (which can be worn by a woman if she wants to smell kind of vintage) rather than a women's fragrance. When I smelled it on my wife today, having no idea what she had sprayed on, I wondered if she had decided to apply one of my aftershaves, but then I remembered I don't have an aftershave that smells quite like that (I would be happy to own one, mind you) and I correctly guessed that it was Chantilly.

I love rose-centric oud frags. I'm the same if someone else is wearing something that I'm wearing I tend to stop wearing that.

I loved TF Black Orchid but the pepper scent gave me a headache 🤕. My better half hated it until she wore it. Guys stopped her to ask what she was wearing. Granted she’s beautiful. A reason to say something. lol Regardless it worked better for her then it did for me.

Men, ladies, wear what you love. I know J-Royl rocks pink skirts and leopard pumps on Saturday night - and nobody judges.
