00:35 - massive progress on my indie game
06:28 - next steps in game dev

So, its been over a year since I started on this game dev journey of building my dream game, Castlemancer. I've learned an absolute ton about game development and game design.

Recently, I quit my full time job at Google, and there was some speculation that I had quit to pursue indie game development full time. And based on all of the devlogs and game dev videos, I can see why. But as much as I would love to produce indie games fully indepentently, that dream is still a ways out.

Learning game development is extremely challenging and requires consistent effort to develop your skills. I hope this little devlog was entertaining, and showed what somewhat realistic progress looks like as a solo indie game dev.

So, as soon as you mentioned changing the player to a student at (I'm guessing) an academy of sorts I immediately thought of some great lore implications. Have you thought about having the Castlemancer move from castle to castle to help out these lords and ladies (it seems like this is what you were gearing up to do, I just wanted to pick your brain about it)? It could add in an element that could be used for both story and rouge-like modes, if you choose to go that way. You could implement things like different endings and what not. It would also give it insane replay ability. Additionally, in an attempt to keep your K.I.S.S. concept alive (love how your using it BTW) having another compartmentalized element that you can assign a couple of features or allow to handle a couple of tasks seems like an amazing idea.

Hi there, great progress on castlemancer, it looks really cool! Are you also still working on muster? I am a follower for quite some time now and i never saw you mention muster in any of your newer videos. Maybe i just missed it tho... Could you give us an update on that? If you abandoned it, i would really like to know the reasons and so on. Thank you for the great content and all the best from Austria

Why do localization so early? Why not focus on an MVP in English and just get a demo at ASAP to figure out sooner rather than later if things are working or not?
