Prayer of Repentance

Heavenly Father,

We come before You today with humble hearts, seeking Your mercy and grace. We acknowledge the power of our words, as Your Word reminds us in James 3:5-6, “Likewise, the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body.” Lord, we recognize that our tongues can be instruments of both blessing and cursing. We repent for the times we have spoken words that do not reflect Your love and truth.

Father, I lift up my dear friends who have also struggled with their speech and the thoughts they have entertained. I ask that You grant them the courage to renounce and denounce any evil words they have spoken—words that have caused harm, division, or strife. Help them to understand the weight of their words and how they can impact others. As it is written in Proverbs 18:2, “The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” May they choose to speak life, healing, and encouragement from this day forward.

Lord, I pray for a cleansing of their heart and mind. In Psalm 19:14, we are reminded to pray, “May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.” Let their words be transformed by Your Spirit so that they may bring glory to Your name.

As they seek reconciliation with those they have hurt through their speech, remind them of Romans 12:18, which says, “If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.” May they strive for peace in all their relationships, extending grace to others just as You have extended grace to them.

I pray that they find strength in Your Word and comfort in Your presence as they embark on this journey of repentance. May their heart be filled with forgiveness for themselves and others, allowing them to move forward in freedom.

Thank You, Lord, for Your unfailing love and forgiveness. We trust that You are working within them to bring about transformation.

Thats me i have anger issues towards my mom. On Friday i was listening to a podcast. The holy spirit spoke to me. To release her and forgive her. I cried bitterly as she has affected me alot emotionally and i felt as soon as i took step forward into forgetting about what she has done and how that made me feel. I go back to square one. Also she has a way of showing me how she doesn't love me and sometimes its obvious. Thank God i decided to change how I view her and started serving her as if she has changed. I drove her to church and fetched her sunday after church. My heart was speaking as i am still subjected to a form abuse bt i am ready to view her differently. Not judge her .
