Hidden, affordable snorkeling in Cabo Pulmo | 2023

In this video we travel to Mexico in pursuit of a magical reef that survived the greed of man and lived to tell a tale of abundance in conservation - Cabo Pulmo!

We first heard about this reef when researching places to go snorkeling in Baja. It used to be a popular commercial fishing area that was overfished in the 80s and was eventually, through the grass roots efforts of locals, made into a national marine park that not only recovered but doubled its original fish population.

We love Baja and couldn’t resist seeing the reef for ourselves so we packed up our snorkel gear and jetted off mid February of 2023.

We underestimated how remote the town of Cabo Pulmo was and weren’t able to go on the tour we thought we’d booked but did get to do some un-guided snorkeling at a nearby, hidden beach.
