The Husker247 Podcast tried to sneak in 45 minutes of chatting about Tony White, Dana Holgorsen and everything else that happened on Monday, but then Tuesday’s news cycle started to happen.
However before the news started rolling int he trio discussed White leaving for Florida State, why it may have happened, why despite White’s success it’s not as concerning as it may seem and who ultimately could replace the defensive coordinator.
Then a discussion took place about Holgorsen staying as an offensive coordinator, how this might be the single most important coaching move of the offseason for the Huskers and what things could look like with more time to install his vision for the Huskers.
And then the news started happening. First a wide receivers coach in Daniel Shorts. Then Daniel Kaelin entered the transfer portal.

Giving the benefit of the doubt to the coach because you know he'll do the right thing. I'm all for that

Tony White turns our defense into a top 25 defense the past 2 years (could be more to do with the players than him) and now he leaves with so many of our top defensive players not being able to come back next year. He goes to a 2-10 FSU team that still has talent and will probably be better next year then Tony White can say he turned around two defenses (Nebraska and FSU) along with doing well at Syracuse which sets him up for a HC opportunity. Business decision imo

We’re going to lose 50 players, I don’t care who leaves. We want players who want to be here, not guys who don’t. It doesn’t matter how talented they are. Look at Tommi Hill, forget about the injury, all he was thinking about is the NFL, so he goes out against USC and gives up a touchdown with the WORST TACKLE ATTEMPT I have ever seen. It was middle school level. Clearly cared more about his health than making a play.

My point is, don’t care about a player who doesn’t want to be here no matter how talented, they wouldn’t be giving it their all anyway.

At times the defense couldn't stop anyone. At other times the defense stopped everyone. Too many highs and lows.

With all due respect, you guys are talking the way everyone talks about Tony White. If Satterfield puts up 50 on Indiana and we still lost… everyone would be calling for Tony Whites job. Everyone gave him a pass because they like him. He must be a fun guy to drink with because y’all keep apologizing for him.

Who cares. Let’s get someone in here who has our defense playing consistent. That’s what matters.

Does Tony love cold weather? Love the city of Lincoln like his hometown? If they offered him $500 more a month he should go

makes zero sense to break the season in thirds, as that would give holgerson credit of a satt. coached game in ucla, the first three games are also the most points of a three game stretch of the season, but yes spin the narrative you need to, holgo is better, had you said the average of the holgo games was greater than the first part of the season, 3 vs 9, the 3 game average was greater than the 9 games before, though only by 1.111 points. so is it that you were mistaken about the actual improvement compared to the other parts of the season, are you really bad at math, or do you just exude complete homer bs just to continue the false naratives in efforts to keep the interest in the program?

broken into thirds: first 4: 40+28+34+24= 126; second 4: 28+14+7+17=66; third 4: 20+20+44+10=94
126/4=31.5 66/4=16.5 94/4=23.5
broken into 4ths: first 3: 40+28+34=102; second 3: 24+28+14=66; third 3: 7+17+20=44; fourth 3: 20+44+10=74
102/3= 34 66/3=22 44/3=14.667 74/3= 24.67
satt coached average: 23.56
holgo coached average: 20+44+10=74/3= 24.67

can clearly be seen it was not the most points of any break down, unless you're erroneously omitting games from satt.
