Everything sounds odd in wt, guns as well. Then there’s the curved surfaces, a lot smoother in IL2 as the meshes are higher res. The air intake on the 109 is hexagonal in wt rather than round.

The war thunder one was a warm start and il2 great battles was a cold start

War Thunder’s 3D model is 15 years old in age lol. It’s 2024 now. Almost 2025 and we still have one of the most famous fighter families with an old, and inaccurate 3D model still….

Both sounds are music to my ears, the war thunder version sounds like it’s been warming up at a low rpm for some time, and the IL-2 is just more realistic

You’re not wrong but this is way down on my list of the biggest problems in Warthunder. I don’t want them spending time and money on engine sounds and realistic raindrops in puddles or whatever when I can still face vehicles from the 1960s in my WW2 tank!

Warthunder was built on the Il-2 Sturmovik game engine.

Once Great Battles gets up in the air though it sounds like a 2 stroke chainsaw and they will not fix it :(
