Russia has begun attacking Ukraine, according to NATO officials. The late-night attack began moments after Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that he had "decided to conduct a special military operation" to protect eastern Ukraine's Donbas region.

When I was a little kid I used to think that humanity had learned from the wars of the past and evolved to an age of wisdom and handling differences through diplomacy in order to avoid war. Then ironically when I grew up I served in the military from 02-08 as an OIF OEF war veteran. We haven't evolved as much as I once thought and it hurts.
